Evaluation and Suggestion

I see that this page has not been updated in a while and there should be some adjustments made since many things could have changed or we have more information available to us so we could improve the page. I have added a short paragraph to the (Publication) section and I could add more into some other sections.

The article was pretty decent and has a lot of information about Mass media in Qatar. In the introduction it talks about what they mean by Mass media; however I noticed how there is a huge focus on the Al-Jazeera network. I can understand how that is an important part of mass media in Qatar but this article doesn’t only talk about Al Jazeera, it should cover all aspects of media which it did in the smaller sections.

The article seems to be very organized as It had many different sections which include print media, television, motion pictures, the internet and even went into detail about censorship in the country. Within those topics there are sub-topics as well which provide us with even more information which is helpful and convenient when someone is willing to do research about a certain topic. All the information however seems to be outdated and not renewed. I could add more information that is more recent as a lot has happened with Mass media in Qatar.

I have already updated the (Publishing) section that is under print media and I will be going through each section to try and improve it by adding more recent information, if there is any to be added. Other than that, the page seems to very well structured and organized it just needs to be refreshed with some more new information.

For the new information I have found some sources that would help with updating the article. On one source that I found it is by a local Qatari newspaper, it talks about new radio stations that has stared broadcasting in Qatar. There radio stations are not included in the article so I can include them so the article can be more updated. Another thing I can add is under media censorship. I found a study by Northwestern University in Qatar and The Doha Film Institute which talks about media in Qatar and I found some interesting information about censorship and statistics about how Qataris view censorship.

Overall I feel like there are a lot of new sources that I can add that would help update the article and make it more interesting and improved. Alreem3105 (talk • contribs)
