Sources and introduction

Under the heading "Effect on crime rates", the source, "Brennan Center for Justice", a left-wing leaning policy analysis group, is used as a source. I would suggest finding an alternative source as this one may be biased due to political issues. Also, introduction sentence seems to be a little confusing with the words "is a term used to refer to the fact that..". I would suggest just stating the sentence very straight-forward or stating the fact before. For example: "The exceptionally high prison population rate (716 per 100,000) is referred to as "mass incarceration". Sglane94 (talk) 20:27, 4 November 2016 (UTC)

Lacks information

The article is underdeveloped and lacks content. Information such as factors that have contributed to the increase of incarceration rates could be added to provide a deeper understanding/background.--WikiBenz (talk) 05:00, 5 November 2016 (UTC)

This article should be merged with a larger wikipedia page like incarceration or imprisonment in the united states if it is not built upon. However there is tons of relevant information and research out there that could be added including How Mass Incarceration is a problem unique to the United States. Global Incarceration Rates

Wikipedia's Mass Incarceration page has very little information about mass incarceration. This page can utilize a lot of information and statistics to improve itself. BBC illustrates prison rates indicating Russia's similar issue of high incarceration per 100,000 population. Other Nations besides the United States have high rates of imprisonment including China. The United States however has the highest prison population per 100,000 population.

The section titled Effect on crime rates would be stronger if it included intervening and confounding variables for prison rates and sited credible sources. Indicating why "Mass Incarceration" is a problem singular to the United States and not other developing Nations.

This page could be included in the prison wikipedia page due to the lack of content. However with all of the sources it would be better to just grow this page.

All of the links work. All of the sources are also recent and credible. The page is neutral and unbiased. It provides simple facts about incarceration and the coined term mass incarceration.

Mass incarceration is noted as a term applicable to the United States and its uniquely high imprisonment rates but there is no comparison to other nations nor any information providing other Nations imprisonment rates that allow the reader to internalize to what extent incarceration rates are higher. If a section were added which sited credible sources analysis of other developed nations prison rates this article would be better.

There seems to be a lot of research and articles out there discussing this issue. This wikipedia page can definitely be added too.

Article name

If this article is talking specifically about the United States, shouldn't it be titled "Mass incarceration in the United States"? We do not, of course, "All Live in America". DesertPipeline (talk) 04:02, 28 December 2017 (UTC)

Addition

The rate of recidivism of women in prison is significantly lower than their mole counterparts due to lack of resources. I would like to make a comparison between the two and then provide some possible solutions.
