Feedback
[edit]User:Shikeishu, thanks for creating this article! I'm the author of the page Cigarette Girl, as well as several articles on Yoshihiro Tatsumi's works, so this was nice to see. There were some points in the article that I felt could be clarified:
- "He began drawing himself during middle school" – this sentence could be interpreted as him drawing self-portraits, or creating art rather than just viewing it. If it's the latter, the "himself" should be removed.
- "The atelier was short-lived; it disbanded again in 1960" – again? The article doesn't mention a previous disbanding.
- "He also supported Saito at his successful thriller series Golgo 13" – supported in what way? Financially? Was he an assistant on the manga? Did he just encourage Saito?
- Shōichi Sakurai, Tatsumi's brother and manga critic, called him "the true innovator of gekiga and today's manga" – it can be ambiguous who "him" is referring to here: Matsumoto or Tatsumi?
Overall, great job on the page. It gives a nice overview of why Matsumoto was important and the impact of komaga. Opencooper (talk) 03:14, 23 February 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks for your feedback and your own work on gekiga! I clarified the points with an edit now. Unfortunately I couldn't find a proper source for what exactly he did with Golgo 13. The Japanese article for Golgo 13 mentions that he was a script writer under the pseudonym Tetsuya Suma (須摩鉄矢) in the 1980s. But I removed it for now and will keep looking for a source.
