Discography
What are the titles listed under discography? Are they albums, singles..? Such a vast list with only one title cited (sort of)? Doddy Wuid (talk) 13:43, 23 October 2010 (UTC)
- IP 93.96.128.176's edit summary "Clarification - these are all tracks on the album - see link and citation. Clicking on links always a good idea rather than assuming one way or the other" is not just patronising but clearly incorrect as the link to the album clearly showed a very different list of titles. 93.96.128.176's subsequent editing down from 18 titles to 9, only 3 of which are in common with the article when tagged, if I've counted correctly, reinforces that the edit summary is not correct.
- However, that's by the by as discographies should list discs not tracks. Doddy Wuid (talk) 19:41, 23 October 2010 (UTC)
Filmography
To say that the "guidelines discourage use of the {{fact}} tag" is also at the least misleading. They note that some editors dislike their overuse. Here the tags were applied to a limited number of titles: the most notable works and thus the ones likely to be the most contentious if there is any doubt about the significance of the subject's participation. The suggested course of action in most circumstances would in fact be to remove any dubious material altogether rather than tag it.
The new citations provided as a result of the tagging now illuminate what the contribution or role was (but do arguably call into question the notability of them - mainly listed as "uncredited" or e.g. "body double").
Incidentally this and this are relevant as best practice for laying out the info for filmographies. Can't commit to make a start right at this moment but if anyone else would care to... Doddy Wuid (talk) 19:41, 23 October 2010 (UTC)
