Mary Shields (dog sledder) → Mary Shields (musher) – This article was taken out of an editor's sandbox by another editor and put into article space with no attempt made to seek advice from fellow editors with subject area expertise. WP:ATDAB suggests that parenthetical disambiguators be kept as short and sweet as possible. This is the only article on the encyclopedia with this exact disambiguator. In contrast, we have Jeff King (mushing), John Baker (musher), Peter Kaiser (musher) and Ryan Anderson (musher), suggesting an accepted and preferred naming convention. - Support. It seems like "musher" is the way she and people in a similar role are usually described, and what readers are likely to expect. Adumbrativus (talk) 08:02, 13 April 2022 (UTC)
