The date of death
[edit]According to A History of Doylestown Presbyterian Church [1] (Appendix: Persons Interred in Cemetery of Doylestown Presbyterian Church, 1815–1976, pages 174–187) Mary Hughs died on 27 January 1867 and was buried in the church graveyard. The identity of Mary Hughs follows from the facts that
- Mary Hughes the British writer and Philadelphian schoolmistress retired in Doylestown and
- Mary Hughs buried in the graveyard was buried on the same lot as Thomas Hughs.
