I've noticed that Chrisccl keeps trying to add the description "The premiere site for news and information for DC Archive Editions, Marvel Masterworks, Marvel Essentials, other high-end comic books and trade paperbacks! Complete with Syndicated Content Feeds and Podcasts." to the link to the Collected Comics Library website both here and on the Marvel Masterworks page. This is very self-promotional (Chrisccl runs the site), and the language reads like a giant advert. Calling it the premiere site is extremely biased (and also in my opinion not true). In addition, I think the fact that his site is called the "Collected Comics Library" makes it obvious that the site has information about DC Archives, Marvel Masterworks, and Marvel Essentials, thus making the need for any description at all, redundant.

This is a fuller explanation why I am once again removing the link description, and leaving it with no more unneceasry information present than the link to the The Marvel Masterworks Resource Home Page. If Chrisccl tries to add this self-promotion once more, I will take this to Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Comics.

Every time I come to this page I keep finding links to marvelmasterworks.com. This time they are embedded in two footnotes. When will they be deleted once & for all? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 204.186.40.167 (talk) 22:25, 12 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Neutrality is an important objective at Wikipedia, please see Wikipedia is Not. This article appears to have become a link farm to promote the marvelmasterworks.com site, which primarily exists to sell products and services; this is considered Link Spam and is against wiki's External Links policy.

Specificaly there were four External Links pointing to the same commercial affiliate site within the article, Wikipedia is Not for Self-promotion, Advertising or advocacy of any kind. Example Tenebrae reverted marvelmasterworks.com claim that "The opinions posted on the forums heavily influence Marvel's decision as to what to reprint next." which clearly demonstrates misuse of wikipedia. Also contained in the article is a link pointing to a forum which also is not allowed. These commercial links have been removed, except the origional to the article which is perfectly valid. Please note: this article may have been initialy created as a Vanity Page for marvelmasterworks.com, which would explain recent problems and the vanity edits associated with it. Policy regarding vanity articles usually calls for deletion. thanks Hu12

reprints

[edit]

This paragraph:

"More Reprints (2006-)

*NOTE: The most recent indication is that the information below is premature Starting in May 2006, Marvel will start reprinting some of the out-of-print Masterworks volumes. This is the first time second edition volumes will have been reprinted. Some of the volumes that were not fully restored during the ReMasterworks program will be restored properly for the first time."''

should either be substantiated or removed. It has been here for a year or more and I have seen no indication in any publication that it is correct. Even with the caveat that begins it, it is unclear and likely false.

Omnibus editions

[edit]

There should be a page detailing the Omnibus line. What's currently available, in the pipeline, etc. Took me *forever* to figure out which article I had read about the Omnibuses already released on here and finally went into the history of this article (after looking all over the place). -- WiccaIrish 05:42, 22 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Years covered

[edit]

A column "Years covered" should be added like I just did for DC Archive (took a few hours). --Leocomix (talk) 13:39, 16 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Covers for TPB

[edit]

Could someone add the covers for the new TPB editions? --Leocomix (talk) 22:33, 14 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Bug in Table of Marvel Masterworks

[edit]

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marvel_Masterworks If you order the Table of MMW by Title, last added volumes of MMW (aprox #260-270) don't get ordered correctly. The order by Title "correctly" ignore the article "The", so The Amazing Spider-Man MMW vol.1-19 go in 1st place (it "starts" with A) but recent addittion vol.20 is out of order, almost at the end of the list, because the article "The" isn't ignored. So in the same way, last added volume of: The Fantastic Four, The Uncanny X-Men,... are also out of order.
