Hangon tag
[edit]The page for Martin Smith (film maker) that I have submitted is for the Scottish BAFTA winning director. It seems that someone else had submitted a page for another film maker, that was in turn deleted. I would appreciate it if you could keep me informaed of any developments on this matter and not delete the page in regards to the Scottish film maker Martin Smith. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Megabasswalkman (talk • contribs) 22:52, 25 November 2008
(ec) I nominated this for deletion and have added the hangon tag because the deletion discussion may not be describing the same article. As a non-admin I cannot see the original to make the comparison, but the current article and references now included suggest notability and awards. On the other hand, they are not independent sources so are not necessarily reliable. Ros0709 (talk) 22:57, 25 November 2008 (UTC)
Hi there. Yes, the original article (which is essentially what I have replaced here, taken from an internet archive) was not what was deleted. Someone came onto the existing Martin Smith (film maker) page, I think on the 14th of November, and placed an article about another film maker who happened to be called Martin Smith. Someone then asked for this to be deleted. Hopefully you will be able to see from the imdb link and the awards that this is for the original film maker. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Megabasswalkman (talk • contribs) 23:01, 25 November 2008 (UTC)
Independent coverage here. Ros0709 (talk) 23:09, 25 November 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for that article Ros, I'd not seen it before. Thanks for your help confirming the page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Megabasswalkman (talk • contribs) 23:19, 25 November 2008 (UTC)
The article history has been fully restored now so the changes are there to see. That's a pretty nasty case of vandalism - I've left the editor who did it a warning. It's a shame that didn't get spotted during the AfD. Ros0709 (talk) 12:46, 26 November 2008 (UTC)
