Untitled
[edit]According to thePeerage.com, Charles Craven (1682-1754), who was Governor of South Carolina (1711-1717), married Elizabeth Staples and had one son, Rev. John Craven (1754-1804). Charles Craven does not appear to have had a daughter. This part of the article requires further investigation. Simmaren 01:08, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
Date of birth
[edit]Article starts "Martha Lloyd (1765-1843)" whereas the bio field says born 1772. Either one or both of them is wrong. --MagicMoose (talk) 13:10, 29 January 2013 (UTC)
Daguerrotype
[edit]Johnclevedon added the following comment to mainspace regarding the reference to a supposed daguerreotype of Martha Lloyd in old age, with her dog.
A note at the Jane Austen Museum in Chawton, Hampshire, UK, suggests that the above mentioned is in fact an "ambrotype" (a later technology), rather than an daguerreotype, and could not, therefore, be an image of Martha Lloyd. It is suggested that the image is of another relative of Jane Austen. (Refer to the printed note at the Jane Austen Museum, seen and read on Saturday 2nd April 2016.) JF.
