Legend and myth

[edit]

The Cabeza de Vaca used that surname at a much earlier date as documented in charters from before 1212 particularly from the Burgos area where the family was firmly rooted. This Martín is an invention, a legendary ancestor, who is not documented in any serious source.--Maragm (talk) 07:36, 27 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Maragm, do you have a reliable source for this that could be used to modify this page? I see this 'myth' repeated in many places, and if it is indeed not based in fact, it should be so indicated here in Wikipedia.Alafarge (talk) 17:31, 19 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Alafarge, I'm travelling and won't be home, where I have my books, for another three weeks. Will get back then when I have checked some sources. Regards, --Maragm (talk) 17:49, 19 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
