Year built
[edit]According to the cited book: "Marsalforn Tower, Gozo. Built in 1724, it was completely demolished by the British in 1915 since it was in the way of a wireless station. The design of the tower was by Charles François Mondion."
Also, was it complete or only being built during Perellos'? If completed must have been between 1-10 January 1720...if the 1720 date is valid and Perellos died on 10 January 1720.Continentaleurope (talk) 18:24, 11 September 2016 (UTC)
- @Continentaleurope: The exact year of construction of the tower is unknown. In pages 48-49 of this journal, Stephen C. Spiteri states that "work on this new tower is believed to have begun sometime in 1720." The tower is mentioned in the Order's records on 10 May 1722, when it lacked the wooden door and drawbridge (so probably it had just been completed). Therefore it could not have been built in 1724.
