Taking this one! One of the highlights on Midnights for me. In the meantime, I would appreciate any comments on my current FAC.--NØ 11:40, 6 December 2022 (UTC)
- Hi, thanks for reviewing! I'm having only ample time now as I'm remotely working (for a limited time), so I cannot say I could commit to anything as demanding as an FAC... Regardless, I'd try my best to see what I can do. Cheers, Ippantekina (talk) 07:05, 8 December 2022 (UTC)
- It's a relatively small article and you also looked at it during its GAN. With all due respect, you seem to be extensively working on at least five articles right now (another one recently GA nominated) so I really hope you will be able to leave a few comments. I'll have motivation to swiftly do this review after that happens.--NØ 02:00, 9 December 2022 (UTC)
- Studios and length are unsourced in the infobox and not repeated anywhere in the article body. Also, there's no release history section so where's the source about the release being on Republic Records?
- ", taken" is completely unnecessary in the first sentence.
- "the narrator reminisces about a past relationship's ..." - Remove "about"
- The first sentence of the lead's second paragraph is convoluted.
- Background and release: No mention of everything Swift was doing the previous year? Taylor's versions? Why does it falsely give the idea Antonoff is the only producer on the album, what about the others? What about mentioning the work they did together before 1989? No information about the production and development of the song itself?
- "and electric guitar played on an EBow creating a single note that sustains and slowly oscillates up and down throughout the track" - Convoluted again and there's an awkward tense change in the middle.
- Repetition of "described" in consecutive sentences.
- Repetition of "production" within the same sentence.
- "reminisces a past relationship where she and the lover shared memories together" - "She and the lover"? The only lover in the world?
- "the narrator then contemplates on how the relationship" - "Then" and "on" unnecessary
- The last paragraph of Composition and lyrics doesn't seem to have anything to do with the section title and it's all critics. Why is it randomly thrown in here?
- "Maroon" is a sequence to "Cornelia Street" - Do you mean... a sequel?
- Insider and Genius are extremely poor sources
- It does not sit right with me that a Taylor Swift album only received this many reviews. There seem to be several mainstream publications you have not consulted, I'm sure. Please exhaust those while rewriting this.
- This section is poorly written in general...
- "Wohlmacher hailed it as an "immediate masterpiece" and, lauding the production and lyrics, "the pop song of the year"
- We have something to the effect of "lauded"/"lauding" in two consecutive sentences
- "found "Maroon" containing some of the most poetic lyrics Swift had written"
- "Moreland said that of all Midnights track"
- "deemed the "superb" track a representation of the album's subdued, atmospheric production" - "Superb" is an opinion, not a fact.
- "it is one of the best album tracks sonically" - This is suddenly present tense after the bit preceding it being in the past tense
- "On a less complimentary side"
- Repetition of "production" in consecutive sentences
- "Carl Wilson considered "Maroon" a decent song on its own but, in the context of Midnights, makes the entire album drag" - This is... not a correctly framed sentence.
- "Exclaim!'s Megan LaPierre appreciated the first verse and the bridge but felt the rest of the song "underwhelming" in contrast" - "Felt" the rest of the song underwhelming...?
- There are currently 20 countries/territories the song charted in that are absolutely not mentioned in the Commercial performance section at all. How are its first-week US figures more important to include than any of these?
- No mention of the fact that the song, along with nine others, helped Swift set a milestone record of occupying the whole Billboard Hot 100 top 10??
- Canadian cert ref does not say talk about it "surpassing 40,000 in terms of streams and sales". Also, why is this sentence randomly tacked on to the paragraph's end?
- I know your capabilities and am not going to promote such an obviously unprepared and rushed article at this time. Please make absolutely sure you have exhausted all available reliable sources for the Reception section and reworked some of the other incomplete sections before renomination. Regards.--NØ 00:23, 19 December 2022 (UTC)
