Maybe someone can elucidate the name Marmaduke. Never heard before except the Guardian today, in the meatime I know at last the dane. Gerhard51 21:04, 27 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

According to http://www.thinkbabynames.com ...

The boy's name Marmaduke is of Irish and Gaelic origin, and its meaning is "follower of Saint Maedoc". The most famous of a number of saints named Maedoc was a sixth-century abbot of Clonmore in Ireland. The name has comical English upper-class connotations.

... which should be all the elucidation needed. -- Derek Ross | Talk 00:10, 4 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not aware that Hussey was ever jailed and the article makes no mention of it. Is it right? KJP1 (talk) 11:36, 6 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
