Do not move
[edit]Please do not move to Mark Wilson (footballer), as that is reserved for the Scottish footballer. Of course, one can make Mark Wilson (English footballer) and Mark Wilson (Scottish footballer), but given this Wilson's present location and lack of notoriety in England for him, it's an unneeded mess IMHO. --DR31 (talk) 02:44, 27 December 2005 (UTC)

1998–99 UEFA Champions League
[edit]I'm not sure why Wilson is listed in the Manchester United 1998/99 squad on that RSSSF page when players like Raimond van der Gouw and Jonathan Greening (both of whom were on the bench for the final and actually received medals) were not included. I have an official UEFA stats handbook at home that I can check for Wilson's status, but that'll be in about 6 hours. – PeeJay 10:47, 30 May 2019 (UTC)
- Okay, I checked the handbook and Wilson isn’t listed at all, not even among a set of players who weren’t assigned squad numbers. That would seem to put him among the B-list of players registered for the competition. Since all players under a certain age are eligible for that list and essentially registered automatically, we shouldn’t say players from the B-list have won the competition unless they actually played in the competition (e.g. Wes Brown), otherwise we could list every player on the club’s books at the time, which would be ridiculous. – PeeJay 08:35, 31 May 2019 (UTC)
