Talk: Mark Scott
Redefining the word success is part of Mark Scott's daily routine. An overachiever to say the least, Mark Scott has worked professionally as a singer, dancer, songwriter, pianist, and impersonator. Growing up in the small town of Portage, Indiana, Mark Scott began his career modeling and singing the gospel at the young age of 5. It wasnt long after that when he would blossom into an expert of his craft. Finding inspiration in the works of Michael Jackson, Mark Scott began to study the King of Pop incessantly and later found himself impersonating the artist in shows at his local Indiana church. These impersonations would take him all over the United States, as well as parts of England, Ireland, and Scotland at only age 16. Not only did mimicking Michael Jackson get the attention of reception halls across the globe, but Mark Scott's impersonations would also catch the eye of three of the worlds most renowned judges. Paula Abdul even went as far as to say that Mark Scott was certainly the best at impersonating Michael Jackson that Ive seen in a long time. Auditioning for the first season of American Idol was a turning point in the young performers career. As Mark Scott excelled to be a finalist in the top 30 of the television phenomenon, along with greats such as Kelly Clarkson, Nikki McKibbin, E J Day, Christina Christian, etc., Mark was given opportunities to appear not only for Fox, but also in Teen Magazine, Inside Edition, TV Guide, and Local Indiana news stations. Mark Scott also used this platform to speak at Youth ministries nationwide. After American Idol, Mark Scott went on to work professionally as a featured singer with Anheuser Busch/ Busch Entertainment Corp. and as a lead male singer with Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines. Mark Scott was also a regional finalist for the phenomenon "Gifted Talent Search" created by industry manager Johnny Wright (Backstreet Boys, Nsync, Britney Spears, Janet Jackson, Boys II men, Pdiddy etc.) Currently, while residing in the "sunshine" state of Florida, Mark Scott is diligently in the studio working to finish tracks for his upcoming CD release, which includes the single "Dont Say Goodbye", a piece Mark wrote for his lost friend and colleague Rich Bourke. Mark Scott is also eagerly anticipating the re-airing of his American Idol experience, where they will show old footage, new footage, and a recent interview with Mark, on the upcoming show "American Idol Rewind", set to hit televisions nationwide in late September. "Greatness is not the pursuit of perfection, but the pursuit of completion." - Mike Murdock
The article as-is is a copyright violoation (amongst other things) as it is copied straight from his Myspace page. Previous articles were attempted disambigs that didn't actually point to any articles. Prior to that, it was a redirect which is what I'm reverting to. -- Whpq 21:39, 22 August 2006 (UTC)
