Vandalism by danobindy
[edit]A review of the history of this article will show frequent edits/vandalism by a poster going by the username of "danobindy." danobindy has admitted to being Dan O'Brien, co-author of Mark May's memoirs. He is the reason the "Criminal history" section is continually removed and replaced. Any editor looking at these changes should view danobindy's vandalism in the light of paid Public Relations. — Preceding unsigned comment added by De orco (talk • contribs) 22:20, 17 July 2013 (UTC)
Personal note to danobindy: Mark May's professional career work merits inclusion of his criminal past, and we're going to include it in this article no matter how many times you attempt vandalism.De orco (talk) 23:03, 17 July 2013 (UTC)
Picture
[edit]Why is the picture of him signing a basketball? He was a football player, right? Also, it would be nice to have a picture where his face is seen more easily. 24.124.109.67 (talk) 20:56, 10 December 2007 (UTC)

"Charges" section
[edit]I've removed the "charges" section per WP:UNDUE. As it stood, the article gave as much weight to those criminal charges as to his entire football career; since May is still alive, the higher threshhold for neutrality applies. - Jredmond (talk) 18:51, 18 March 2009 (UTC)
- Does that mean that if I add a lot more to his football and broadcasting career, then i can readd the drunk driving charges? Jwalte04 (talk) 19:34, 18 March 2009 (UTC)
- It depends. How did they affect his careers? - Jredmond (talk) 20:17, 18 March 2009 (UTC)
- I agree. Also, did these charges actually result in any type of fine or other penalty? Or did they result in some sort of professional discipline? (I'm thinking of something along the lines of a suspension, such as recently occurred with Charles Barkley. If so, a stronger case may be made for inclusion if the article were expanded. As things stand, it would unfairly emphasize this part of the subject's life. Xymmax So let it be written So let it be done 22:25, 18 March 2009 (UTC)
- agreed. Okay I will think about it and see if i can fill in career information and see if i can either expand or condense the dui stuff accordingly (or leave it out entirely). Word.Jwalte04 (talk) 22:37, 18 March 2009 (UTC)

get another job because you obviously don't know college football... keep bashing the buckeyes and / or notre dame
did you have a bad experience with recruiting when you were in college and it didn't pan out..?? i think a local newscast in asia where they have no football "may" be right up your alley.....jim tressel :) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.115.108.120 (talk) 00:08, 8 November 2009 (UTC)
The neutrality of this article is a joke. Whoever continues to delete any mention of May's criminal record is obsessively introducing POV bias by removing anything they consider unfavorable to May. The Criminal history section was well documented and to delete it amounts to vandalism.De orco (talk) 00:28, 17 July 2013 (UTC)
I now see that the user Danobindy, who has repeatedly vandalized the article to remove news sources regarding Mark May's criminal history, is in fact Dan O'Brien the co-author of May's NFL memoir. No wonder that someone who is paid to polish May's professional reputation would take so much time to scrub this entry. Just be warned, Mr. O'Brien, the facts are out there and will be included in this article no matter how many times you vandalize it in an attempt to force your own POV. This is not a news article or editorial, so your complaints about "balanced coverage" are misguided. In fact, you seem misguided about the entire purpose of Wikipedia. Please stop vandalizing legitimately documented articles in your shameful attempts to advance your career or that of your paying client. De orco (talk) 02:21, 17 July 2013 (UTC)
Neutrality Issue
[edit]Just removed this chunk of text:
"He is also known for his hatred of Boise State. No matter what game they win, he will find a way to lick taint and hate on Boise State. Mark come on man you lose credit as an analyst every time you go against Boise State. Along with his hatred for Boise State, May is known to many South Carolina fans as a Gamecock-hater as well. This is evident by the subjective comments he makes against South Carolina at every chance he gets. Mark May is also known for his middle school crush on the Florida Gators and Timmy Tebow. There has been speculation suggesting that May may just be a bandwagon fan, only cheering for teams atop the college football rankings."
for obvious reasons...

Why does mark May hate Ohio State football ??????????????????????????
[edit]I have never seen any spokeman on TV speak so ugly of one college as Mark does to Ohio State Football team.Alot of the big colleges started out as every year against ateam that it's not really there standards. The only colleges started out strong this year was LSU v Oregon. But out of all those other colleges Mark BASHED Ohio Sate. WHY ??????????? Why is he such a HATER? Yes I am a Buckeye. Still he bashes us so hard. Lou H. even said how rough he is on the Buckeyes. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 168.244.164.220 (talk) 08:04, 16 September 2011 (UTC)
Because Woody Hayes refused to recruit him. When doing back ground checks in his past they found some red flags. Woody decided not to take a chance on him . May has hated OSU from that day forward.

Why does Mark May despise The Ohio State University so much?
[edit]Could it be that he may not have been recruited by The OSU? Just asking...Scott Bixler209.22.221.73 (talk) 02:25, 16 November 2012 (UTC)
Woody would not recruit him because Mark May failed the background check. It turned out Woody had good reason. Mark May incited a riot and had 2 DWI's . — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.102.141.170 (talk) 12:08, 15 October 2016 (UTC)
