Early Fan Writings
[edit]I would like to add a section on Gru's early fan writings. In addition to Omniverse, Gru published A Treatise on Reality in Comics Literature, and its shorter edited version, A Primer on Comic Book Reality. The Omniverse fanzine (which lasted two issues) was a spinoff of TORICL, and these helped get him the Amazing World of DC Comics assignments (an article on the Martian Manhunter's career in @ 13, and an extended JLA guide in @14).
I would like help with this, as I will be shifting my focus on professional/paid writing again soon, and won't be spending as much time on Wiki as I have the last few weeks. I don't have a sandbox set up for this yet, as I haven't used that, and am not sure I want to develop that skill at this time.
Thanks. Icarus 23 15:41, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
Ordering of his works
[edit]Am I the only person who thinks these should be alphabetical, rather than chronological? Ford MF 22:04, 24 February 2007 (UTC)
- Um... yah, I'd have to say you're in the minority.
- The convention is that, with writers and artists, works are listed by date first, then alphabetically if two or more were released/produced at the same time.

- If you could show me somewhere it says that, I'd be grateful, because it seems a convention that is not at all consistent or universal among wiki editors, e.g. John Byrne. Ford MF 22:53, 24 February 2007 (UTC)
- Wikipedia:Manual of Style (lists of works) And that does mean that articles like Byrne's need to be cleaned up. — J Greb 22:58, 24 February 2007 (UTC)

Spiderman and Next Men
[edit]1) Over in John Byrne's 'Next Men' is a comic book publisher who stumbles upon -real- superheros. I don't quite remember why but said publisher ends up risking his life for artistic integrity. I'm pretty sure this dude was based on Mark. Anyone got any info?
2) There was a Spiderman issue produced soon after Mark's death. But this time the -villain-, well, I don't want to say too much because a bad guy is a bad guy. Anywho, drawn by Mike Weiringo and Spidey and Doctor Strange get put through the wringer. Again, any basis on real Mark? Poking fun? Coincidence? Lots42 15:03, 8 October 2007 (UTC)

Legacy
[edit]The fourth issue of the JLA/Avengers 2003 four issue crossover also had a dedication on the back page to Gruenwald's memory. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.50.29.205 (talk) 05:23, 26 August 2016 (UTC)
