Untitled
[edit]This article is under construction, but was posted without a tag to that effect. I have added the "under construction tag" in the hope that the individual posting this entry might have the opportunity to finish their effort before the piece gets targeted for speedy deletion.Historytrain (talk) 01:46, 13 November 2008 (UTC)
Early Life
[edit]I believe that the information under header "Early Life" lacks references which poses the idea of the paragraph being a personal opinion. If no reference is found then I suggest removing sentences that cannot be quoted directly that way it will not detract from the veracity of the article.
"As the only child of Jewish intellectuals (both schoolteachers), Mark D. Naison had an easy childhood. Although he was happy as a child, Naison felt different from the other kids because he was ostracized from his peers because his parents put such an importance on intelligence. Naison rebelled and turned to sports as an outlet and to help him fit in better with the neighbor kids."

- Weather Underground reference should be removed. He said in an interview, when the Weathermen moved in the direction of underground tactics and of 'the propaganda of the deed' and acts of political violence, that's when I left. I left before that." http://www.albany.edu/jmmh/vol4/naison/naison.html — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gogue2 (talk • contribs) 18:22, 3 January 2014 (UTC)
Encyclopedic Tone
[edit]It would be more consistent with encyclopedic tone to modify the in-text references to the subject of this biography such that he is referred to as "Mark Naison" or "Naison" (rather than as "Mark").--Historytrain (talk) 01:15, 21 November 2008 (UTC)
Uncategorized
[edit]This item would benefit from the customary entry-end categories that link it to other areas within Wikipedia.--Historytrain (talk) 00:51, 22 November 2008 (UTC)
Infobox
[edit]An infobox would enhance this article. See other biographical entries for examples.--Historytrain (talk) 00:52, 22 November 2008 (UTC)

Chappelle's Show
[edit]Not sure if/where to add this, but he was on a popular Chappelle's Show sketch called "I Know Black People", which is available on YouTube here. Obviously not a super important part of his life but given the popularity of the show it could be worth a passing mention. Rovenrat (talk) 04:45, 23 May 2021 (UTC)
Biography, or Autobiography?
[edit]Most of the citations in this "biography" are sourced to Naison himself. This hardly qualifies as a "biography" and should be deleted or improved to reflect a NPOV. But Wikipedia is garbage after 2007 and the great Co-optation, so who takes it seriously anyway? 2600:1700:B5D0:2E90:ADA1:7C7A:1E38:858F (talk) 17:21, 30 April 2024 (UTC)
