Hi
Thanks for the great resource. There is a page - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_Bunn_(Australian_footballer) - that I am the actual footballer/person the page relates to.
I have been trying to edit the page (though have not been the only person doing material on my page in the past) as there's a number of concerns with the page content.
I totally agree that what is on my page currently is not suitable and understand the cautions at the top of the page about not being neutral etc. This is the reason I have recently been trying to make changes to the page so that it is up to date, factual, neutral and not promoting anything.
However, every time I tried to do it it doesn't get updated and I get told that my attempted changes are 'disruptive'.
Can you please tell me how I can make the appropriate changes to my page so that I can have the issues highlighted in the box at the top eliminated?
I also know that the new photo is being questioned/put up for deletion. This is also fine with me, though the reason this was put up is that we felt it is more illustrative of me as a footballer (previous one was a formal corporate photo. We don't know why that would have been permitted but a football photo was not).
- For some background, the reason we are trying to have this information on our page is because when people search my name another person who plays football in Europe (UK soccer player) comes up so we don't want people getting confused.
Below is what we have rewritten which we thought would be more suitable for my page (we just don't know how to have it accepted by Wikipedia)
CAREER section is to be ...
A 6-year AFL footballer, Bunn was recruited from East Doncaster, Victoria, and captained the Fitzroy U19s before making 30 senior appearances for the Fitzroy Football Club between 1990 and 1992. He was runner-up to Scott Clayton in the 1990 best and fairest (his debut season) having played just 17 games. After two injury-affected seasons, he was drafted by the Hawthorn Football Club in 1993. He played 23 senior games, including one final, and won another two reserve best and fairests (he won one at Fitzroy also). He mainly played through the midfield and as a backman.
In the 1990s, Bunn completed an Honours degree in Exercise Physiology and formal training in Maharishi Ayurveda.[1]
Today, Bunn is the author of Ancient Wisdom for Modern Health— the simple, timeless secrets of health and happiness, and according to his website is a natural health presenter specializing in Ayurveda, eastern wisdoms of health and the secrets of the world's healthiest and longest-living people.
Bunn is also a long-term practitioner and now a trained teacher of the Transcendental Meditation technique (TM).
Anyway, if you could please advise how we correct things so that they are okay for Wikipedia's guidelines we are more than happy to do so.
Thanks so much.

- Comment I've moved this from Special:PermaLink/807950443 as it's better for starting a conversation to have it here. Primefac (talk) 01:23, 31 October 2017 (UTC)

- Some comments. Firstly, when dealing with the article about yourself, proposing changes on the talk page is preferable to editing the article directly; writing neutrally about oneself often is more difficult than we realize. See also WP:AUTOBIOGRAPHY.
- Secondly, the current article's main shortcoming, from Wikipedia's point of view, is the shortage of reliable sources about you that are independent of you. Your proposed change doesn't address that shortcoming; your own website is not an independent source.
- Do you say that the current content is not factually accurate? What's wrong? I couldn't see that from your proposed change.
- The image was nominated for deletion because of copyright concerns, it's clearly not your own work. Neither was the old image whose metadata contained a copyright tag; I have nominated that image for deletion too. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously; if the images are not released under a free license, we cannot have them, and if they are, we need evidence of that licensing.
