Script Lawsuit

[edit]

My understanding is that Sgt. Sarver and his lawyer were in talks with "The Hurt Locker" people for months before the Academy Awards but held off filing their copyright lawsuit until Academy members had already voted so as not to diminish the film's Oscar chances. Also does anybody know what the legal parameters are on somebody making a movie about an aspect of your life? If I were a fireman, for instance, and some reporter followed me around and then made a movie about me fighting fires, without getting my permission, what are the legal precedents? Any copyright lawyers out there? Anybody know of any previous case law? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 63.207.238.247 (talk) 12:58, 11 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
