What is the issue here. Many sites have consistent entry from single or common sources. This site is referenced to links and while the notice at top of page indicates that there may be false information, there is no such thing on the page. This site has been on line for a long time and is qualifed by number of links and references to other sites and sources. The question today is about Google ranking and the 'close' relationship referred to in thte comments is ridiculous given that page is updated to reflect changes in subjects bio only. How is it promotional to provide a record of outstanding individuals? This individual has recieved numerous national, international and provincial awards and accolades that have been corroborated on this site. If wikipedia is going to start doing this, a form of defamation, then there is little point or interest in continuing to use this resource. It also undermines the credibility the contributor which is also ridiculous given that no false informaiton has been provided here. --Evolve Multimedia (talk) 20:52, 19 June 2015 (UTC)
- It has 2 references, which is not enough. Also, it's pumped full of puffery that is unencyclopedic. Also, you clearly have a COI, and therefore cannot see what's so wrong. Needs a complete rewrite, with factual information accompanied with sources and no external links. Joseph2302 (talk) 21:14, 19 June 2015 (UTC)
- Also, thank you for using a COI edit template- I'm glad you've admitted to having a COI. Joseph2302 (talk) 21:38, 19 June 2015 (UTC)

Mark Angelo - eliminating issues concerns
[edit]Dear wiki editor, It's Mark Angelo again and, in reference to my last note, I see you have posted a note on the site in my name saying that I have forwarded a list of verifying references. I sent you close to 20 verifiable supporting references for all the points mentioned by contributors and could easily send you many, many more. If needed, I'm happy to do this (but the posting is relatively short so that may be overkill). I see that you have only posted a few of these references on the site itself. The page in my name seems to have been edited by you to eliminate any past wording you thought wasn't needed. This is fine in that the site still provides a reasonable semblance of my work. The page is worded in a way consistent with many of your other biographical postings and has more references than many. My work has also been corroborated by many levels of government and reputable institutions including the Order of Canada, our country's highest honor, which has an extensive vetting process). The page in my name seems to get a lot of traffic and I've seen that it shows up quickly when doing a general search in my name. I know your volunteer staffing is limited in number so my concern is that the issues statement will stay on this site even if unwarranted. The issues statement as worded also gives an inaccurate and unfair impression of the page subject. My preference is to hear from wiki as to when the issues statement might be removed. Being an advocate who works extensively with the public, I'm a believer in what wiki stands for and would like to retain a posting. I'm also happy to provide a phone number or email to a wiki volunteer if there is a willingness to discuss this (I'll also send a copy of this to info-en@wikimedia.org - so they will have a record of my email address). However, if the issues statement can't be removed, I am also happy to discuss page deletion in that a summary of my work is available through other mechanisms. I would greatly welcome hearing from you. Guichon creek (talk) 19:21, 29 June 2015 (UTC)Mark Angelo
- I've been busy, and Wikipedia doesn't have a deadline, even if you do. Also, thiss isn't a high traffic page like you claim, [1] says there's been 476 page views in 30 days, and half of them were in the 2 days where the person/company you asked/paid to edit the page got exposed. I'm busy in real life, but still decided to start improving it immediately, to try and clear up the mess. Joseph2302 (talk) 19:29, 29 June 2015 (UTC)
- Also, lots of the things you've posted aren't actually reliable sources- Youtube is not a reliable source, per WP:YOUTUBE, and anything that you wrote is a primary source, so not a reliable source. Joseph2302 (talk) 19:30, 29 June 2015 (UTC)
Done I've added all the reliable sources you suggested, but ignored the self-published, or otherwise unreliable, sources. See my source evaluation below. Joseph2302 (talk) 19:51, 29 June 2015 (UTC)

Joseph, you've done a good job on the page and thanks for your efforts. I don't know who wrote the original posting about my work but, as the subject, you can only hope that it's a largely accurate reflection of what you do. When I came across the issues statement you posted as a result of your communications with past contributors (in one case, a former student submitting on her own volition) and that you were seeking more verification, I wanted to send you a list of possible references thinking it might be helpful. With the changes you've made, the submission now reads in a more encyclopedic way, which is positive. I appreciate the goals and objectives of wiki, along with the important role that volunteers play.Guichon creek (talk) 20:44, 29 June 2015 (UTC)Mark Angelo
Is this category appropriate? I believe it is, since he's a person involved with rivers, and thus basically just a river. Joseph2302 (talk) 20:16, 19 July 2015 (UTC)
- Are you just trying to be funny somehow? The fact that a person works with rivers does not literally turn the person into a geographic feature consisting of water flowing through a trench in the earth. Bearcat (talk) 20:18, 19 July 2015 (UTC)
- Do you have a reliable source that he isn't a river? In all seriousness, I guess he probably isn't quite a river. Joseph2302 (talk) 20:24, 19 July 2015 (UTC)

In the text, #19 should be referenced in the "career" section at the end of the 2nd sentence that talks about Riverworld. Both #20 and #21 coulld be placed at the end of the 3rd sentence in same section (end of paragraph) that talks about the show Wild Water, Wild Earth. And finally, #22 belongs in the "positions" section at the end of paragraph 1 where the endangered rivers campaign is mentioned. Blackfootriver (talk) 18:36, 28 October 2015 (UTC)

[edit]Thanks for the clarification on references. At least one of the citations I came across is a newspaper article written by a Canadian journalist describing the show you ask for a citation about - that one would still seem to qualfify according to your description. - 21. [edit]Hi Joseph, just as a final note, I forgot to mention that, after reading your earlier post and submitting a newspaper citation on one of the shows you wanted a citation about (Wild Water, Wild Earth), I also found a second National Geographic article that relates to the other program you wanted a citation for. They interviewed the subject about the Riverworld program. It's entitled Concervationist takes Rivers on the Road.
