Contested deletion
[edit]This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because... in addition to being unusually prolific for the industry, Mr. Thomsen's operatic career has included numerous headlining roles at the biggest opera companies in the United States and Europe. He has also been part of the initial cast of several operas/musicals written by Garrison Kiellor, Dominick Argento, Leonard Bernstein, Carlisle Floyd and Lowell Liebermann, each of whom have extensive pages of their own. These are all stated in the article. It's true that he isn't as well known as Pavarotti or Domingo, but that's like saying that Kevin Sorbo shouldn't have a wikipedia page because he's not as important as Arnold Schwarzenegger. From an opera perspective, he's pretty close to the top. --Matt.thomsen (talk) 20:18, 17 April 2014 (UTC)
Copyright Issue Resolved
[edit]While it appears that the page has already been un-blanked from the copyright violation status, I figure it is prudent to point out that the bio upon which this article was initially based has been released to the public domain as seen at the bottom of the page at http://www.markthomsen.com/bio.shtml. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Matt.thomsen (talk • contribs) 18:34, 19 May 2014 (UTC)
