There are problems

But they can be fixed easily, I think. I love Marissa's music dearly, but this article reads as a hagiography. What's worse is that it doesn't cite nearly enough third-party sources. I believe every source cited is an interview - this does not meet Wikipedia's standards.

A lot of these things can be fixed easily -- it would take only moments to source her music awards, for example.

But the overall tone may be more difficult to fix. When writing a biography of a living musician one really needs to think "is this something that would more likely appear in an encyclopedia, or in the artist's press material?"

Hopefully the writers can help clean this up. I'll see what I can do in coming weeks. Like I said, I'm a huge fan of hers -- but we can do better, and she deserves it. Whatwillhappen (talk) 09:35, 16 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I made a couple minor changes to address this issue. I think what we need to do (or more experienced Wikipedians need to do) is add a box to the right to display the reviews. There have been some more for July, so this needs an update as well (e.g. Rolling Stone).Nicolo Machiavelli (talk) 13:04, 25 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Looks like this article has been given a "A major contributor to this article appears to have a close connection with its subject" flag. This is unfortunate and should be addressed. I understand this is probably written by fans, but it's so laudatory it probably make Ms Nadler herself blush. As a fan myself, I'm hardly neutral in my opinion, but I'd like to try to tone down the language in this article.Nicolo Machiavelli

Beefing up this entry

[edit]

I just made a number of changes in order to add more substance to this entry. It is too meager for such a prolific and well-known artist, and there is a lot of material out there. I'm not an experienced Wikipedian, so I probably made a number of blunders, but hopefully this will inspire others more experienced than myself to help expand this further.Nicolo Machiavelli (talk) 13:47, 31 July 2017 (UTC) Nicolo Machiavelli[reply]

Had second thoughts, so I reverted back to the version before July 31. I will be checking through some of the edits we (mostly I) made in the interim to see if they can be re-implemented (e.g. spelling mistakes and adding sources).Nicolo Machiavelli (talk) 20:15, 21 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

There was no need to selectively edit the guest appearances section of the discography. Please don't make such random edits. I am restoring now. Greg Fasolino (talk) 21:03, 24 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't selectively edit it, I just restored the page to the time before I started all those edits, which undid some of the additions I had made to the discography. Nicolo Machiavelli (talk) 09:21, 8 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Perhaps it was unintentional, but you did more than undo your edits, you undid all of the work I had done to clarify the discography. Please be careful to not undo others work, thanks. Greg Fasolino (talk) 15:39, 8 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

It was unintended, believe me. I apologize for any annoyance I've caused.Nicolo Machiavelli (talk) 22:07, 6 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
