Thanks

[edit]

I wish to thank 212.183.47.210 for reverting the change by 72.24.183.93 who removed all "GNU/" from "GNU/Linux" -- I had missed it. The article was already using the term in a perfectly clear and consistent way; that shouln't be changed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Positron (talkcontribs) 13:18, 6 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I object to the article's deletion

[edit]

No personal offense taken of course, don't worry Thumperward.

Marionnet is not yet as famous as some other free software projects, yet it's far from being obscure. I've added several sources including a couple of peer-reviewed papers which I hope should compensate for the bias coming from the fact that I'm one of the co-authors.

The software is in widespread use, even if unfortunately it's quite hard to find a citable source for all the Marionnet university installations we're aware of; for example just here at University Paris 13 we have at least 300-400 users per year. We also know that Marionnet is used at Paris 11 University, Paris 12 University, and at Wuhan in China (Sun Gun and Yu Ying Fu, if you see this message you can confirm :-)). A prospective user also contacted us from the US.

If the consensus is delete I will shut up, but I think the community should vote on this.
