Professor E. Gadd
Should the Professor be added to major non-playable characters?
Yes, i think that he is important. I mean, he gives you items wich are not sold in other parts of the bean bean kindom.Isyou 04:35, 1 October 2006 (UTC) Of Course! 67.38.252.226 14:44, 2 August 2007 (UTC)GameMania
Wario & Waluigi
Wario appears on a poster, but Waluigi does not appear in the game. I'm editing the article to remedy this. --Liquidcross 16:20, 4 May 2006 (UTC) I might delete this!!! 67.38.252.226 14:47, 2 August 2007 (UTC)GameMania
Pipe House teacher
Does anyone know what the creature in the second pipe in the pipe house is?
I seems as if it's a bullet bill. GamePlayer623 01:20, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
- No, I guess it's just an unnamed pipe something RedNifre 17:47, 27 August 2006 (UTC)
Hmmm... I guess so. 67.38.252.226 14:48, 2 August 2007 (UTC)GameMania
Help?
Can anyone help me with the Bowsers castle part? I'm stuck right at the part after Morton. I did the little tornado part and got a 1-up Super, but now what?
- This is not a place to be asking for help. Go to a forum, or something. Do not do it again.
GamePlayer623 04:35, 25 July 2006 (UTC)
Lol at attacking some guy that has probably never used wikipedia before can someone help me defeat the final boss of the game? ...Maybe. 67.38.252.226 14:50, 2 August 2007 (UTC)GameMania
try gamefaqs.com, though i probably shouldn't be advertising for them, especially since im not getting paid! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 131.24.119.11 (talk) 11:37, 5 March 2009 (UTC)
Reason for adding a boss section
Hello, I'm funkychicken. I just recently edited this section to add a boss part to it. So far it only has Jojora and her little friend, I mean big, friend a Frankenstein like doll. I hope you all will help add on to it, or delete if you think it absolutely #@**!!&%$!
That would make this a game guide if it had bosses on the guide. Kudos to whoever removed it —Preceding unsigned comment added by 131.24.119.11 (talk) 11:38, 5 March 2009 (UTC)
Plot
This section is way too long. Its length should at least be cut in half. –Llama man 20:31, 20 January 2007 (UTC)
"Gameplay & Game Mechanic Explanation"
While it is technically not a walkthrough, I think this section is way too extensive. Maybe part of the "Brothers moves" section could be kept, but things like in-depth explanations to the battle system are more appropriate for a gaming wiki. –Llama man 23:48, 8 February 2007 (UTC)
Square-Enix Involvement
I just played through the game, and noticed in the credits that there was credit given to Square-Enix. Did they have any involvement with the development? If so, it would make sense to add them to the developer list, would it not? Uagent 08:27, 24 February 2007 (UTC)
- They own the rights to Geno, who is the little puupet guy that explains the rules to one of the Arcade games in the game. So that was why credit was given.(Mario66 01:18, 19 April 2007 (UTC))
question
how do you get the bean fruit that is not beried (King food 14:19, 5 April 2007 (UTC))
- Talk pages are for discussion of the article, not asking for help with the game. — MalcolmUse the schwartz! 18:11, 5 April 2007 (UTC)
This article has a lot of POV, some bad grammar (not a big deal), and the "Cackletta" section reads more like a description of the plot rather than the character. I don't see how it needs its own article. Therefore, I propose that it be merged with this article. — MalcolmUse the schwartz! 00:42, 1 May 2007 (UTC)
- I agree. A portion of those are hardly even notable. Gurko 12:15, 10 May 2007 (UTC)
Why merge Cackletta if it's an actual character meant to have it's own article? Why can't we just replace most the article and type in what's meant to be there? Angry Sun 15:20, 10 May 2007 (UTC)
- Please define "what's meant". — MalcolmUse the schwartz! 19:01, 10 May 2007 (UTC)
Yes. Cackletta and Fawful should have their own article. 67.38.252.226 14:57, 2 August 2007 (UTC)GameMania You know. Stuff about the character. Angry Sun 19:12, 10 May 2007 (UTC)
- Not all video game characters are meant to have their own articles. Zant, anyone? — MalcolmUse the schwartz! 21:06, 10 May 2007 (UTC)
Um yeah it's just that CACKLETTA WAS THE VILLAIN OF THE ENTIRE GAME! Angry Sun 21:09, 10 May 2007 (UTC)Plus Fawful. 67.38.252.226 14:54, 2 August 2007 (UTC)GameMania
- Half of the game's (all below Popple in the list, I'd say) are non-notable, in my opinion. I agree that there should be descriptions of the major characters, such as Cackletta, but why do we need an entirely seperate article? — MalcolmUse the schwartz! 21:15, 10 May 2007 (UTC)
I like Luigi more than Mario, though others may disagree.....SCREW YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry, but I voice my opinions! This goes for Super Mario World also.Cascade11 (talk) 16:57, 13 October 2010 (UTC)
GA Status
This article flows nicely and is spread into sections evenly. It is quite solidly built. It is referenced and there are no large edit wars on the talk page. Although the Plot Summary is a little short, and there are only a mediocre amount of images, this article deserves GA status. Continue working on it, and it may someday become FA material. Happy Editing! Epass (talk) 00:52, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
This game has multiplayer capabilities
Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga includes the Mario Bros. arcade that is present in all of the Mario Advance games. I feel it should be mentioned as it is part of the game. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Nintendonly (talk • contribs) 03:46, 20 July 2008 (UTC)

Vandalism (Maybe)
Is the thing about Jim Carrey real (i have never played it) 12.74.209.134 (talk) 01:41, 31 August 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah. The given ref redirected to the Nintendo site because the address must have changed. I've now fixed it so the official site is shown. I would warn you, or any other user, not to use the word "vandalism" when it isn't necessarily warranted. Ashnard Talk Contribs 09:08, 31 August 2008 (UTC)
- Nevermind. They've taken off the proper site and replaced it with a microsite, thus losing the quote. Thanks for the heads up. Ashnard Talk Contribs 09:13, 31 August 2008 (UTC)
Square Enix involvement, heritage, and similarities
Square Enix made the previous Mario RPG (without Luigi), the Legend of the 7 stars, which is where Geno comes from. So both timed mechanics and Geno are Square Enix's bits in gameplay. Also, the way that characters use some abilities both in-battle and out-of-battle makes it similar to Harry Potter: Prisoner of Azkaban on same platform. Though the interaction is somewhat poorer in HP, as rear characters can't help the front character in puzzles. (Luigi and Mario can hammer each other after meeting the french rodent couple, Mario gets small while Luigi becomes burrowed). So, this game bears some resemblance to both previous Mario RPGs and Nintendo Harry Potter games. Yura87 (talk) 21:44, 30 July 2013 (UTC)
- This seems purely based on original research or synthesis. Previous Mario RPGs I can understand, but do you have any reliable sources that explicitly see resemblance between this and Harry Potter? --ThomasO1989 (talk) 21:46, 30 July 2013 (UTC)

GA status
This article is in need of some editing work - I have done some already, but I notice that large portions of the gameplay section are unsourced. Development is also rather brief (maybe nothing else is known, but we should check for interviews etc), and the reception section does not feel GA-quality either. This is my personal favorite video game, so I plan to work on improving the article, but would also appreciate help from others.--AlexandraIDV 16:36, 26 January 2021 (UTC)
Going to make notes of things that need to be fixed, by section (overall structure is fine). If you fix any of these, please make a note of it!
Infobox
- Most staff except the producers and composer are only mentioned here, without any sourcing. Key staff should be brought up in the development section.
- Similarly, release dates are only mentioned here, without sourcing.
- Working. Have sources for the US (IGN), Japan (Famitsu), and Europe (Eurogamer), but don't know how I'll cite the Australia date.
Lead
- Uses sourcing for non-controversial, basic information. We should check that that information is sourced at the relevant parts of the article (gameplay, reception, etc), and the refs should then be removed from the lead.
- Description of plot keeps moving back and forth in the chronology.
- Very little information on the gameplay and reception.
- Done. However, this is going to be expanded further after more info is found and prose is increased, such as in reception.
Gameplay
- Large portions of this is unsourced, and it is because of this unclear just how much that the sources that are there do cover.
- Image is rather basic, showing an idle pose - should ideally be replaced with an action shot that illustrates what's special about this game (potentially one shot of a Bros Move in the battles and one shot of a Bros Move in the overworld)
Plot
- Feels like it's at times editorializing, and occasionally goes off on tangents unrelated to MLSS, for example
Cackletta is aided by the assailant Fawful, who is often characterized by his comical use of language, as evidenced by his famous quote "I HAVE FURY!" and who appeared in the sequel, Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time, as well as Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story.
- Characters section at times retells the plot.
- Story section is rather long for a story that often is a slapstick comedy or vehicle for jokes. We don't need to retell individual moments.
- Done to all of these.--AlexandraIDV 06:19, 5 February 2021 (UTC)
Development
- Does not mention a lot of the key staff (see infobox note above)
- Very short. Does not mention much about the actual development, design, etc. Maybe that isn't known, but we should still look for information.
- Feels like Nintendo's knock-knock joke contest is covered to a too high degree here.
Reception
- Overuse of quotes
- Working
- Sometimes unsourced (we can't claim that "Edge and other gaming publications" said something and then only cite Edge. This is a recurring thing)
- Working
- We have a lot of sources in the review table and only a few are actually used in the prose. We don't need to use all of these in the prose... but we also don't need to include a bunch of less prominent outlets in the table if they're not being used. When a game this major is released, we don't necessarily need to rely on smaller sites like RPGamer and Nintendo World Report.
- Working I got this one. One of my main issues is that the article claims the game received critical acclaim, but it doesn't look like it according to this section.
- Would really like to see this re-written with reviewer comments grouped thematically (gameplay, writing, visuals, etc...)
- Working. This might take a bit, you can follow my progress here. What I'm going to do is figure what each review liked, disliked, and had mixed opinions on, and write them down. From there, I can see which sources had similar things to say, and rewrite and organize this section from here. I'm most likely not gonna use every source.
Remake
- Feels like this could (should) be incorporated into other sections including development and gameplay. The remake is not an entirely different thing - it is still the same basic game with new visuals and some additions.
--AlexandraIDV 05:49, 28 January 2021 (UTC)
Discussion
- Just to avoid doubling of work, I'm posting to let anyone else interested in this article know that I'll start with reworking the plot section.--AlexandraIDV 06:19, 28 January 2021 (UTC)

- Would this work as an image to showcase a Bros. Attack in battle? https://www.mariowiki.com/File:Mlsssplashbros.png (Oinkers42) (talk) 16:32, 29 January 2021 (UTC)
- (Oinkers42), The one currently on the article already shows a battle. I prefer the one here too, as it shows the attack screen. This shot only shows Luigi being attacked, which is not as helpful in comparison. Panini🥪 22:20, 29 January 2021 (UTC)
Splitting Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga remake
Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions is a remake of the original game. it has many differences compared to the original. The remake needs to have its own article. Longplay Watcher (talk) 13:59, 26 June 2021 (UTC)
