- ... that barnstorming pilot and wingwalker Marie Meyer's stunts with the Marie Meyer Flying Circus included standing on the upper wing of a biplane while it looped-the-loop (pictured)? Source: https://books.google.com/books?id=KWLbbcCQ0T8C&pg=PA241

- Interesting article, moved from userspace under a week ago, well cited throughout. I have to AGF on the source for the hook as I can't read it at the Google Books link provided. 𝕱𝖎𝖈𝖆𝖎𝖆 (talk) 11:17, 22 March 2023 (UTC)
- At one point the full book was viewable online, but now the version linked only shows some excerpted pages. MaryMO (AR) (talk) 23:56, 3 April 2023 (UTC)
- The source for the hook is actually page 242. Lightburst (talk) 02:25, 2 May 2023 (UTC)
Edited photos
[edit]It is clear that the three photos showing Marie Meyer variously on the lower wing, on the top wing and doing the loop, are all based on the same photo of the airplane, with Marie Meyer being edited in (in at least two of the photos). This is evidenced by the outline of the plane, including the relative positions of all parts, being exactly the same in all three instances. In other words, the distance and angle of the plane relative to the camera is identical, which would not be the case if the photographs had been taken at different moments. This should be clarified in the description of the photographs. If it is maintained that the photographs is take at different instances, and maybe even at different events, the source of that information should be stated. This does not mean that she did not do the depicted stunts, only that at the time it was difficult to take good aerial photographs, and that it was much easier to illustrate the stunts by creating the images in the dark room.
