Marian Quartly Prize

[edit]

I suggest this is worth mentioning: https://theaha.org.au/awards-and-prizes/marian-quartly-prize/ Ben Aveling 05:59, 18 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@BenAveling: Thanks for pointing it out. A good addition, now a separate section.--Oronsay (talk) 01:59, 19 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

founder or cofounder of two historical journals

[edit]

I suggest this is worth mentioning: "founder or cofounder of two historical journals, the Push from the Bush and History Australia" https://www.womenaustralia.info/leaders/biogs/WLE0765b.htm.

FWIW, History Australia still exists: https://theaha.org.au/history-australia/ and is probably worth its own page, or a maybe better, create a page for the AHA with a section for HA. https://theaha.org.au/.

I'm not sure what happened to Push from the Bush (https://catalogue.nla.gov.au/Record/1594175/Details?). Probably also worth a page. It was significant in its day. Ben Aveling 20:33, 23 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Added, thanks for pointing this out. Oronsay (talk) 20:30, 23 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

+1 publication: A South Australian Family History: The Middling Sort, by Marian Quartly

[edit]

Marian has released another book, A South Australian Family History: The Middling Sort.[1] The book has been well received and won the TT Reed Book Award for 2023: https://www.genealogysa.org.au/images/TTReedAwardBooks/TT_Reed_Book_Award_2023_web.pdf. Thanks, @BenAveling. I've added this but was surprised and disappointed that it doesn't have an ISBN. Oronsay (talk) 20:30, 23 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks @Oronsay. Good catch. The ISBN is 9780646884097 [2] Ben Aveling 23:10, 23 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
