Image of subject
[edit]I have placed a speedy-deletion nomination indicator template in the caption of this image; I've placed it to indicate that I have nominated this image for speedy deletion, due to potential copyright violation (which is currently being discussed), and also was nominated for deletion earlier, in July 2008. It is linked to an image description page in Wikipedia Commons, with the nomination templates; but that image page does not indicate that the image is linked in this Wikipedia article (see "links" at bottom). I don't know why that is. Clearly this image is not an orphan in Wikipedia, as it is used in the articles found in "what links here" and in the "links" listed in the Wikipedia page for this image. I find these discrepancies confusing and have brought them to attention in WP:NFR. --NYScholar (talk) 22:11, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
Given that this subject lived after her imprisonment in the concentration camps, between 1943 and 1945, and 1953, when she died, might there not be an actual free image of her that one could place in her infobox [if one creates an infobox for her]? There are those ten years of time when she might have been photographed and someone might have another photo of her for an infobox or opp. the opening paragraph. Why does one have to feature a photograph of her from 1943 of disputed copyright whose "public domain" claims are in doubt in the United States and which requires a fair-use rationale? Might there not be a free image one could upload to Wikipedia Commons of her at a later time in life? Just wondering. --NYScholar (talk) 09:20, 5 September 2008 (UTC) [fixed typo. sorry; was tired. --NYScholar (talk) 12:42, 5 September 2008 (UTC)]
