A fact from Maria Bethânia appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the Did you know column on 4 April 2008, and was viewed approximately 1,015 times (disclaimer) (check views). The text of the entry was as follows:

Untitled
[edit]I removed the tags linking Maria Bethânia to "Roman Catholic entertainers" (et. al.) as she believes in the Afro-Brazilian candomblé religion and is not a practicing Catholic. Candomblé deities and spirits figure in her music and videos. Like many Brazilians, her religious beliefs are highly syncretic. - macongo, 12/31/06, USA/EUA
Number two, eh?
[edit]"the second best selling Brazilian female singer of all time"? So why not tell us who the best selling Brazilian female singer of all time is, if the factoid is going to be raised at all? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.229.45.200 (talk) 23:23, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
- My educated guess is that Elis Regina is #1, and that whoever put said "factoid" in the text assumed that other people would know that. - macongo —Preceding unsigned comment added by Macongo (talk • contribs) 18:13, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
- I've edited the final sentence of the text. The sales figures cited are likely out of date, and I believe it's more important to concentrate on Bethânia herself. - macongo —Preceding unsigned comment added by Macongo (talk • contribs) 18:22, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
- Changed "As Canções Que Cocê Fez Para Mim" to "As Canções Que Você Fez Para Mim". Also corrected Hugh Lawrie to Hugh Laurie. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Nvfusa (talk • contribs) 03:12, 10 September 2008 (UTC)
