The Dark
[edit]Ms Bello described how many of her scenes in the Movie "The Dark" were actually filmed at sea. "It was cold swimming in the Irish Sea, but it was fun to do a "Bo Derek" off the coast of the Isle of Man", joked Ms Bello. She became intrigued by the project of the "The Dark" after reading the script. "It had such a wide range of emotional situations set in a family environment. The moody weather of the Isle of Man seemed perfect for the story' she added. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Johnwrd (talk • contribs) 22:42, 3 June 2009 (UTC)
Lesbian Actress?
[edit]Woah, woah! Hold your horses, when did she come out as gay? Nowhere in that recent article she wrote does she say she is gay? She's probably bi.
We don't have Jodie Foster listed as gay, even though she's been in a relationship with a woman, and even joked about being gay at the recent globes.
Secondly, she has had "love relationships with men". I don't think she's gay, maybe bi, or pansexual.
Just look at this quote,
Bello wrote openly in her column about leafing through old journals. "I read about the handful of men and the one woman I had been in romantic relationships with, passages rife with pain and angst," Bello wrote. "It seemed when I was physically attracted to someone, I would put them in the box of being my "soul mate" and then be crushed when things didn’t turn out as I had hoped."
How could she be physical attracted to a man if she was gay? Plus she had a relationship with a woman in the past. Misterwizz, December 1 2013.
- From WP:BLPCAT: "Categories regarding religious beliefs or sexual orientation should not be used unless the subject has publicly self-identified with the belief or orientation in question".
- So, same as all the other recent actors who have gone public with same-sex relationships, without identifying with a specific sexual identity, no categories should be added to her article, per policy. Siawase (talk) 08:30, 2 December 2013 (UTC)
Then at what point can we trust the media who reported it? She was identified as such my the media if she states other wise then it can be corrected. There are quite few other people who should be removed as well. Because there many people being labeled you are dead yet there is little proof — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tx1987 (talkcontribs) 15:45, 2 December 2013 (UTC)
- Well Bello considers herself to be a "whatever". Just cause the media says she is gay, does not make her gay. Misterwizz, December 2 2013
- If Bello hasn't specifically said "I am lesbian" or "I am bi", we should not categorize her accordingly, this is per WP:EGRS.--Obi-Wan Kenobi (talk) 17:47, 2 December 2013 (UTC)
- Tx1987, this high quality reliable source should clarify things: If You Think Maria Bello Is A Lesbian, You Weren’t Paying Attention - Time.com Siawase (talk) 18:34, 2 December 2013 (UTC)
Thanks. Websites are just trying to make article titles that will grab peoples attentions.

She definitely can't be categorized as lesbian & likely not as bisexual. However, I don't see why she wouldn't fall under the LGBT category. Blaylockjam10 (talk) 00:31, 3 December 2013 (UTC)
- This is simple, regardless of peoples opinion this subject does fall within LGBT categories...just not as Gay, or Lesbian. If that leaves out what LGBT categories there are then yeah...exclude. But she is in a same sex relationship and that is an LGBT subject.--Mark Miller (talk) 01:46, 3 December 2013 (UTC)
Cats
[edit]For those adding the LGBT cats to the article, read WP:BLPCAT, and then stop. Darkness Shines (talk) 21:44, 2 December 2013 (UTC)
- Why not nominate the categories for deletion while you're at it, seeing as we can't add them, even though numerous other LGBT individuals have them. Rusted AutoParts 21:47, 2 December 2013 (UTC)
- Those arguing that she doesn't fall within the categories thus far are correct. We simply do not have an LGBT actor category, we have Gay, Lesbian and Bisexual categories [1]. What we may need, and I support is something like we have for Tom Daley, [2]. In other words, we do have to remember that it is the subjects self identification that is important. I suggest creating a simple LGBT category. In this day and age, people do not always fall within the scope of what we expect.--Mark Miller (talk) 01:55, 3 December 2013 (UTC)
- Actually, there is a Category:LGBT actors. Blaylockjam10 (talk) 06:06, 3 December 2013 (UTC)
- Cool.--Mark Miller (talk) 06:11, 3 December 2013 (UTC)
