I've been drawn in by the lead – very keen to review this article! I should get round to starting it tomorrow. I'll be using the table below. Unexpectedlydian♯4talk 21:51, 9 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for reviewing, Unexpectedlydian! Hinz&Kunzt is a German street newspaper (see de.wiki page) that appears reliable and is cited in ~75 de.wiki articles. No RSN discussion on enwiki. Jewish News likewise appears reliable, if potentially biased for some issues more controversial than announcing the premiere of a play. Difficult to determine rate of citation here as it shares a name with several other publications. Only mentioned tangentially at RSN. Feel free to take your own look at these, but I believe they're reliable. ezlev (user/tlk/ctrbs) 00:18, 11 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, that's very helpful! I'll do a source check now. Unexpectedlydian♯4talk 19:37, 12 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @ezlev, I've done an initial review and added comments in the table below. Do let me know if you have any questions! I'll put the article on hold now. Unexpectedlydian♯4talk 21:36, 12 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Unexpectedlydian, thank you so much for the detailed initial review! I believe all points here have been addressed – had some trouble trying to edit the table to mention what I've done, so I used edit summaries instead. Take a look when you can and let me know what you think! ezlev (user/tlk/ctrbs) 00:04, 15 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @ezlev, thank you for addressing all the changes. I've made a small edit to the article - I've put the two images of the Stolpersteine in a vertical gallery (feel free to revert if you disagree). Happy to promote this to GA now, well done! Unexpectedlydian♯4talk 10:54, 15 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks again, Unexpectedlydian! See you around the wiki! ezlev (user/tlk/ctrbs) 20:21, 15 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

1. Well-written:
1a. the prose is clear, concise, and understandable to an appropriately broad audience; spelling and grammar are correct.

Lead

  • they are believed to have been murdered at Auschwitz. Later in the article it says that her father died (not murdered) and that her mother and sister may have been murdered at Auschwitz or died at Stutthof. To avoid excessive detail in the lead, maybe change to something like "Heuman's parents and sister died before she could see them again".
  • Need something more in the lead about her historical significance and the play.
  • Rest of the article looks good, I'll do a final check at the end.

1b. it complies with the Manual of Style guidelines for lead sections, layout, words to watch, fiction, and list incorporation.

Lead sections

  • See above (criteria 1a) for extra detail needed in the lead.

Layout

  • checkY

Words to watch

  • None identified.

Fiction

  • N/A

List incorporation

  • N/A

2. Verifiable with no original research:
2a. it contains a list of all references (sources of information), presented in accordance with the layout style guideline.
  • Sources are cited in the appropriate places.

2b. reliable sources are cited inline. All content that could reasonably be challenged, except for plot summaries and that which summarizes cited content elsewhere in the article, must be cited no later than the end of the paragraph (or line if the content is not in prose).

Just want to confirm the reliability of the following sources (as I am unfamiliar with them), could you assist?:

  • Hinz&Kunzt
  • Jewish News

Source check

Hájková, Anna (July 15, 2020)

  • General comment: The source covers pp.112-133 of the journal, but in the in-line citations do not correspond to those page numbers. I have noted what I have found below.
  • Comment - I see Ditha's surname has been changed in the article.
  • The group was moved through three satellite camps of Neuengamme, including Dessauer Ufer from July to September 1944, Neugraben from September 1944 to February 1945, and Tiefstack from February to April 1945. This is on p.120 of the source I can access, or the ninth page in total.
  • Both Heumann and Neumann engaged in sexual barter with men while at Neuengamme, obtaining food which they then shared with each other. This is on pp.126-127, or the 15th and 16th pages, of my source.
  • ... while Neumann stayed behind. This is on p.130 of my source, or the 19th page.

Laufer, Benjamin (May 1, 2020).

  • checkY

Hájková, Anna; Hughes, Erika (February 18, 2022).

  • Phoebe Rumsey and Ayse Evans are not mentioned in the source.
2c. it contains no original research.
  • I haven't seen the source which mention's Ditha's full name as Ditha Neumann - could you point it out for me?

2d. it contains no copyright violations or plagiarism.
  • She worked variously in a button factory, as a nanny, and as a waitress. She met and began a romantic relationship with Lu Burke, who would become a New Yorker copyeditor, and the two lived together in the West Village. This is closely-paraphrased to what is in the source (spotted during source checks). I'd suggest rephrasing this information in the article.
  • and Burke helped Heuman to improve her English by reading the dictionary with her. This is closely-paraphrased as well, I'd suggest rewording.
  • ... in a Green Valley hospital; she was 94. Not a massive issue, but I'd suggested rephrasing this sentence to "in a Green Valley hospital aged 94", as it clearer and avoids being structured like the source.
  • Heumann did not see her parents or sister again Sorry I may be being overly-cautious, but this is quite close to what is in the source. Could easily be rephrased to something like "After Heumann left on the train, her parents and sister died;..." Let me know what you think.
  • Heumann spent two years in Sweden Another one I'm flagging out of an abundance of caution. Perhaps change to "Heumann stayed in Sweden until 1947"?
  • Copyvio brings up nothing of concern, just highlights a couple of points already spotted above.

3. Broad in its coverage:
3a. it addresses the main aspects of the topic.
  • From reading sources, I am happy that this article covers the key aspects of Heuman's life and legacy.

3b. it stays focused on the topic without going into unnecessary detail (see summary style).
  • Article stays on topic.

4. Neutral: it represents viewpoints fairly and without editorial bias, giving due weight to each.
  • Article is presented neutrally.

5. Stable: it does not change significantly from day to day because of an ongoing edit war or content dispute.
  • Recent unconstructive edits have been addressed.
  • I note there is a lot of discussion on the talk page about whether to use the word "queer" in the article. I am content that it is fine to use it as per the concluding comment on the talk from April last year. The last time the word was changed in the article was November 2022, and did not result in an edit war.

6. Illustrated, if possible, by media such as images, video, or audio:
6a. media are tagged with their copyright statuses, and valid non-free use rationales are provided for non-free content.
  • Copyright statuses are provided, and fair use rationale is provided for poster.

6b. media are relevant to the topic, and have suitable captions.
  • Images are relevant, I'd maybe specify whether the second image is in the same location as the first (or just remove it as it's a zoomed-in version of the first?)
  • Second image needs an alt description (not a GA requirement).

7. Overall assessment.
