Dodgy accounts and misrepresentation?

[edit]

According to the last two editions of Private Eye, Fysh has allegedly filed grossly mis-stated accounts for one or more of his businesses, some of which are offshore. He has also apparently not declared these various business interests on the Members' Register. There is some allegation of money laundering related to a Cyprus-registered company that he controls, and some stuff about allegedly corrupt oligarch connections. He has apparently refused to comment but another MP - Ben Bradshaw - has referred the matter to Commons authorities and to Companies House. I am unsure at what point this becomes article-worthy. - Sitush (talk) 07:17, 10 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Recent changes and removal of content

[edit]

Opening a discussion regarding recent changes and removal of some sourced content on 18 July 2021 (UK time) and the rationale behind the changes.

Regarding the sourced content that Marcus Fysh was one of a number of Conservative MPs being investigated by police in 2016 for allegedly spending more than the legal limit on constituency election campaign expenses and that subsequently in 2017 the Crown Prosecution Service said that no action should be taken, I can understand it being removed on the grounds that no evidence of wrongdoing by Fysh was proven, but consensus would be preferable for the removal of this.

Regarding the content that Fysh has business interests linked to offshore investors in Cyprus and reportedly submitted several late and inaccurate accounts with Companies House, this content did rely on primary sources and lacked a secondary source to establish the significance of this. However, if a secondary source can be found to verify that this content is significant, then I feel the content should be restored.

Not sure why the content on climate action and other environmental issues was removed. If the content about the committees that Fysh sits on is genuinely out of date, then it can be removed.

The content about Fysh being one of nine MPs who had claimed Amazon Prime subscriptions on their parliamentary expenses, but this was refunded doesn't seem hugely important to me, as there's no evidence of wrondoing by Fysh in claiming an Amazon Prime subscription. This could probably be trimmed as per WP:NOTNEWS, but consensus for the removal would be preferable. Regards, Kind Tennis Fan (talk) 22:00, 18 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
