[edit]Article states that he lived from 82 BCE - 56 BCE, yet he was aedile in 50 BC. Does this mean he was an Aedile 6 years after he died? Naerhu 07:05, 21 July 2006 (UTC)
I have changed the information on Clodius' trial for vis to reflect the true facts, that he was mainly on trial for murdering an ambassador -- not for trying to poison Clodia. This is easily verifiable by reading the Pro Caelio, our main primary source text on that trial. Cicero's oration focuses on Clodia because he did not wish to address the main point of the trial, that is, the murdered ambassador.67.42.156.69 21:08, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
Okay, here's a paragraph that bothers me: "A year later, in 58 BC, Cicero was exiled, partly through the efforts of his political enemy Publius Clodius Pulcher. Several years earlier, Clodius had infiltrated a ceremony at the house of Julius Caesar in honor of the Bona Dea dressed as a woman, because men were not allowed in. It is believed that he did this in order to carry on an affair with Pompeia, Caesar's wife. Although Clodius was acquitted, he never forgave Cicero for his testimony against him (some online sources list Cicero as one of the prosecuting lawyers, but Cicero's own letters [Ad Atticum 1.16] support that he was only one of the called witnesses). Clodius’ sister, Clodia, is believed to be the pseudonymous “Lesbia” that the poet Catullus wrote about." It's sloppy. First, "dressed as a woman" is a misplaced modifier. Second, it's relation to Caelius is rough; it merely introduces Clodia by mentioning her brother. There is no need for any information in this paragraph. And if there is need for it, do not list "some online sources" as "some online sources." Be specific! What online sources? I'm deleting the paragraph. -September 2011
Catullus 69 also mentions Rufus, claiming that his lack of luck with women is due mostly to the horrible smell from his armpits. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.35.74.172 (talk) 16:43, 25 April 2011 (UTC)
