Lead

[edit]
  • Put the acronyms of the Canadian Football League in parentheses the first time it is mentioned

Early career

[edit]
  • USA Today and Evansville Courier & Press should be italized
  • "defensive player of the week" - The first letters of each word should be captialized as is normal for sports awards

Saskatchewan Roughriders

[edit]
  • "Adams went on to play eight seasons with the Roughriders." - This statement is not referenced

2004 season

[edit]
  • "but he didn't play in any regular season games." - did not

2005 season

[edit]
  • Who is Nate Davis?

2008 season

[edit]
  • "The Roughriders made the playoffs, but lost to the BC Lions 33–12 in the West Semi-Final." - This needs to be supported by a reference

2010 season

[edit]
  • "The Roughriders again made it to the Grey Cup, but they lost to the Alouettes 21–18." - This needs to be referenced

That is what I found. On hold. MWright96 (talk) 17:21, 11 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Corrected the typos and added references in most situations. There's two things I wanted to discuss further.
  1. "Adams went on to play eight seasons with the Roughriders." is a statement which is thoroughly sourced in the below sections, so providing a single source saying this seems superfluous. That two sentence section is essentially a "lead" for his professional career. WP:CITELEAD states that we should balance minimizing redundant citations with the need to cite sources inline when information is likely to be challenged. While that consideration is presented in the context of a true lead section, the sentiment remains when handling summary style text later on in the article. I can add a citation if you consider it absolutely necessary (the original CPFE2012 cite verifies his eight seasons on the team), but it would be unusual to provide a citation for that when it's more thoroughly cited in further sections.
  2. Nate Davis is another defensive lineman who played for the Roughriders at the time. If I were to mention either aspect, though, it would be redundant; Adams obviously wouldn't be starting in place of another team's player, and he obviously wouldn't be starting as a defensive lineman in place of a quarterback. Is there a specific characteristic of Davis you'd like me to mention? The wikilink covers his basic info, as it's designed to do. ~ Rob13Talk 18:08, 11 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for clarifying. I don't think it is vital for a citation to be included for the eight seasons statement after what you have revealed to me. With Davis, there isn't any characteristic of Davis that I wanted to be stated, other than who he is but you have convinced me otherwise. Other than that, I can pass this review.
