Birthdate
[edit]Is there a discrepancy here? del Pilar appears on 1859 Births page, but the text of this article reads 1850. -- nicknich3 01:54, 28 February 2006 (UTC)
The H. in his name
[edit]What does the H. in his name stand for?
"H" stands for Hilario.
Del Pilar's poverty
[edit]I think it would be quite interesting to include the part of Marcelo's life in which during his poverty, her daughter sent him a letter saying that she was saving up money so he could afford himself to buy food, upon or before receiving the money, however, he then fell ill then died due to tuberculosis.....
Disambiguation
[edit]Please. Please. :) When adding a link, especially for Spanish, make sure it goes to the right place. So it should be [[Spain|Spanish]] and not just [[Spanish]]. Tired of constantly fixing that link. --User:Woohookitty Diamming fool! 04:46, 12 September 2009 (UTC)
Retraction from masonry and catholic death
[edit]Did del Pilar retracted from Masonry shortly before he died of tuberculosis in Spain? Did he die a catholic? --110.55.6.96 06:13, 25 October 2011 (UTC)
According to some sources, del Pilar took the Holy Communion shortly before he died (yes, he also retracted from Masonry), thus reconverting to the faith of his forefathers. What is known and acknowledged by many historians is that he and López Jaena were both denied a "Catholic" burial like what happened to Rizal despite having retracted masonry. The official Catholic hierarchy has yet to state its stand on those people who died and retracted masonry on the eve of their deaths.
It appears that nobody got a Catholic burial so it must be a longstanding policy up to this day. --MartyWilliams 07:34, 25 October 2011 (UTC)
