GA pass
[edit]Small, but well-written. The images need Fair use rationale though. Thanks Jaranda wat's sup 22:13, 12 June 2006 (UTC)
Last paragraph
[edit]This part of the last paragraph needs rewriting:
Pugh will no doubt be looking forward to a more stable season in 06/07 in what will be his first professional season and will want to put in some good performances in order to gain a longer contract. His squad number is 31 for Bury in the 06/07 season as it was for the six games he had at the end of the season.
It is written in the present tense and as a result, it reads like a news article; it will go out of date quickly. It's also quite POV, since it says that he will be looking forward to something. If that claim is made, it needs a source.
A strange choice for GA status, but with a little improvement it could be considered worthy. -GilbertoSilvaFan 00:50, 22 September 2006 (UTC)
GA Reassessment
[edit]- This discussion is transcluded from Talk:Marc Pugh/GA1. The edit link for this section can be used to add comments to the reassessment.
This article has been reviewed as part of Wikipedia:WikiProject Good articles/Project quality task force in an effort to ensure all listed Good articles continue to meet the Good article criteria. In reviewing the article, I have found there are a number of issues that need to be addressed.
- It is reasonably well written.
- a (prose): b (MoS):
- The prose is average, maybe a 6/10.
- The lead is too short and does not adequately sum up the article.
- It is factually accurate and verifiable.
- a (references): b (citations to reliable sources): c (OR):
- It is broad in its coverage.
- a (major aspects): b (focused):
- This article is in urgent need of updating to cover the most recent seasons and this Welsh issue.
- His early life and personal life are ignored by the article and must be included.
- It follows the neutral point of view policy.
- a (fair representation): b (all significant views):
- It is stable.
- It contains images, where possible, to illustrate the topic.
- a (tagged and captioned): b (lack of images does not in itself exclude GA): c (non-free images have fair use rationales):
- Overall:
- a Pass/Fail:
I will check back in no less than seven days. If progress is being made, the article will remain listed as a Good article. Otherwise, it may be delisted (such a decision may be challenged through WP:GAR). If improved after it has been delisted, it may be nominated at WP:GAN again. Feel free to drop a message on my talk page if you have any questions, and many thanks for all the hard work that has gone into this article thus far. - I was asked to look at the article again, and the prose, lead and updating has all been satifactoarily improved, good job. Although this will almost certainly pass now, I would like to see some information about his life outside football: is he married, has he been in the news for any reason and any other information which may be relevant (See Brian Urlacher for a good example of how such a section may look, although I don't expect one for this article to be as long). Well done on the hard work.--Jackyd101 (talk) 16:57, 18 December 2008 (UTC)
- Actually, on second thoughts, although what I said above is valid and should be explored, I am going to pass this now. Well done.--Jackyd101 (talk) 16:59, 18 December 2008 (UTC)

Personal life
[edit]Hi, due to the youth of this sports person, it is acceptable for their personal life section to only cover the period before they began their career. However, as they grow older it becomes more important for information on their life outside sport to appear in the article. Please ensure that as the person develops their article does too. For an example of how such a section might look, see Brian Urlacher and for pointers on how to expand and improve such a section, see this guide. Thanks--Jackyd101 (talk) 10:38, 30 January 2009 (UTC)

Career after retiring from football
[edit]After retiring from professional football, Pugh transitioned into a career focusing on fitness and nutrition. He has become a qualified gym instructor, personal trainer, and nutritionist, with a special emphasis on athletic performance and weight management.
Marc Pugh has collaborated with the League Football Education (LFE), established by The Professional Footballers Association (PFA), to deliver workshops to 72 clubs in The English Football League (EFL) with a focus on youth teams. His involvement includes face-to-face presentations and conducting practical sessions in the kitchen, focusing on nutrition and diet for athletes. These workshops aim to educate young footballers on the importance of healthy eating for their athletic performance and overall well-being.
