"Battered concrete piers"?
[edit]Is that some sort of architectural feature, or is this supposed to describe the condition of the piers? I don't recall anything on this bridge looking anything but pristine. I actually assumed it was a modern replica of an old bridge when I first saw it. I won't claim there isn't a mark on the piers, but nothing that would qualify them as "battered". I've seen battered concrete bridge piers, and they impressive.
