- This article is new enough and long enough. The hook facts are cited inline and any of the three hooks could be used. The image is in the public domain, the article is neutral and I detected no copyright issues. A QPQ has been done. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 05:00, 26 June 2020 (UTC)
- Hi, I came by to promote this. Could you please provide page numbers for your book refs? Thanks, Yoninah (talk) 22:13, 30 June 2020 (UTC)
- I can, but not right now - some of those books I have online library access to and would need to do that on a different computer. @Yoninah: Can you remind me in a day or two if I haven't done it by then? Kingsif (talk) 14:34, 1 July 2020 (UTC)
-
- @Yoninah: I think I've done them all but one (long one, lazy). Thanks for the reminder, I'll get on it. Kingsif (talk) 14:32, 7 July 2020 (UTC)
- @Yoninah: should all be done. Kingsif (talk) 17:50, 7 July 2020 (UTC)
- @Kingsif: thank you, good job! FYI footnote 3 is no longer an active website. Yoninah (talk) 17:52, 7 July 2020 (UTC)
- @Yoninah: Thanks for the catch, added archive link. Kingsif (talk) 18:00, 7 July 2020 (UTC)
- Thank you. Restoring tick. Yoninah (talk) 18:17, 7 July 2020 (UTC)
María Lionza (goddess)
[edit]@Kingsif: was it you that wrote the article? Excellent work! I wanted to ask you, if you have the time, to make a small summarized section (maybe just one paragraph) about the statue in María Lionza. I think it would help the goddess article a lot. Keep it up!--ReyHahn (talk) 10:30, 26 May 2020 (UTC)
- Well I finally decided to create a section for the statue based on what was written already. You are welcome to add more comment/rewrite it.--ReyHahn (talk) 13:14, 26 May 2020 (UTC)
- @ReyHahn: It was, I've been debating for a while on whether to include it with the UCV artworks and finally made it. Thanks for the section in María Lionza! Kingsif (talk) 14:05, 26 May 2020 (UTC)
- @Kingsif: Today I started reading the refs that were available in María Lionza's article and I was surprised on how much information was already there waiting to be added to Wikipedia. I got inspired (one could say by María Lionza herself) to expand the article. Take a look, if you can expand the statue section it would be great. Again, nothing big, but a few lines on why was created or some interesting fact about the statue would greatly improve the quality of the article. --ReyHahn (talk) 12:13, 29 May 2020 (UTC)

María Lionza (statue) → Statue of María Lionza – I propose moving to make this entry more consistent with similar publicly displayed portrait statues, per WP:VAMOS, which says, "For portrait sculptures of individuals in public places the forms "Statue of Fred Foo", "Equestrian statue of Fred Foo" or "Bust of Fred Foo" are recommended, unless a form such as "Fred Foo Memorial" or "Monument to Fred Foo" is the WP:COMMONNAME. If further disambiguation is needed, because there is more than one sculpture of the same person with an article, then disambiguation by location rather than the sculptor is usually better. This may be done as either "Statue of Fred Foo (Chicago)" (typically preferred for North America) or "Statue of Fred Foo, Glasgow" (typically preferred elsewhere). If the sculpture has a distinct common name, like the Bronze Horseman, that should be used." ---Another Believer (Talk) 22:11, 19 September 2020 (UTC)
- Oppose Because María Lionza is the actual name of the statue (As used in most sources in the article.) The disambiguation in the title exists because the article María Lionza also exists. Kingsif (talk) 22:18, 19 September 2020 (UTC)
- Oppose per Kingsif, well said. Also, the statue and its name represent a goddess in an action pose, not really an individual standing there in a portrait sculpture. And apparently it is treated as a sacred statue. This one has a lot going for it, and seems worthy to keep its actual name. Randy Kryn (talk) 02:35, 20 September 2020 (UTC)

Where is the statue?
[edit]Kingsif do you know where is the statue located right now? Is it in Sorte mountain? It is just to update the María Lionza article. ReyHahn (talk) 09:35, 17 April 2023 (UTC)
- Sources say it's in Sorte now. Kingsif (talk) 09:57, 17 April 2023 (UTC)
