First page
[edit]This is my first (rather clumsy) attempt at a page - all helpful comments appreciated. Cfgtechnology (talk) 09:48, 31 March 2009 (UTC)
A tag has been placed on Conister Financial Group, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.
If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}}
on the top of Conister Financial Group and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Dmol (talk) 09:50, 31 March 2009 (UTC)

[edit]Hi, I'm trying to just show information about this comapany that I thought would be helpful. It's not advertising, just information. I've attempted to copy another page's format http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brightside_Group_PLC as a base, but would be happy to change this page if you can give me some additional pointers. [edit]Hello, Thanks for leaving a note here for discussion. First point is that wikipedia is an encyclopaedia, but many articles are written by people working for the company, and this leads to claims of conflict of interest and self promotion. Some suggestions… Add a few references from the mainstream business press, that mention the company, its history, size of market etc. Secondly, avoid some of the marketing language such as the second paragraph, - “the company has assisted successive generations to achieve improved standards of living by providing them with reasonably priced credit facilities.” That sounds too much like an ad. Try and avoid the list style that you have used, as this seems also like something from a compay brochure.
Copying other sites might not be the best idea in all cases, as some others are in need of trimming also, but might not have been noticed yet.
I will take out the deletion tag for now, as you are obviously new and making an effort to get it right.--Dmol (talk) 10:21, 31 March 2009 (UTC)
PS - an admin just beat me to it. The deletion was declined, but I would still suggest doing what I have listed above, to prevent future problems. Thanks.--Dmol (talk) 10:23, 31 March 2009 (UTC)
Thanks

[edit]More updates and links applied - another review and feedback would be appreciated. Cfgtechnology (talk) 10:06, 3 April 2009 (UTC)
New comment.
[edit]Your page is advertising - not really appropriate for an encyclopedia. The site you use as a reference site belongs to a company in your group as you know. This is not what Wikipedia is for. Ask yourself - is this text what somebody who didn't have a vested interest in the company have written? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Muhammad72 (talk • contribs) 17:01, 15 May 2009 (UTC)
