Proposed merge of Manurewa Local Board with Manurewa (local board area)
[edit]I cannot see why there needs to be a distinct article for both the area and the board associated with it. Both would be better discussed together. — HTGS (talk) 02:05, 1 July 2024 (UTC)
- Comment - This situation also exists for at least:
- Franklin Local Board & Franklin (local board area)
- Howick Local Board & Howick (local board area)
- Rodney Local Board & Rodney (local board area)
- Franklin Local Board & Franklin (local board area)
- Papakura Local Board & Papakura (local board area)
- Puketāpapa Local Board & Puketāpapa (local board area)
- Whau Local Board & Whau (local board area)
- Ōrākei Local Board & Ōrākei (local board area)
- Waitematā Local Board & Waitematā (local board area)
- so it may be worth discussing these simultaneously.-2405:DA40:434D:3B00:283B:D1D1:84A1:AC41 (talk) 04:19, 1 July 2024 (UTC)
- Support - local board areas don't really have any significance outside of being the constituency for the local board. There may be some content that could instead go to the respective suburb article but I think a merge to have the local board articles talk a bit more about the area is sensible. In principle would also support a consistent approach with the other local board areas but I haven't looked at them properly. Turnagra (talk) 19:45, 2 July 2024 (UTC)
- HTGS - Given the lack of comments overall, I've boldly performed the move. We may need to work through the other examples flagged by the IP above for consistency. Turnagra (talk) 20:22, 16 November 2024 (UTC)
- Amazing, thank you! I looked at this again about a month ago and just went, ugh. Merging is such a hassle in general, but this looks really good. — HTGS (talk) 21:28, 16 November 2024 (UTC)
