Coverage suggestions
So with the concept split at Industry finished, this article will provide the main coverage on industrial production for now. My long-run preference would be for industrial manufacturing to live at the main Industry page. However, it turned out the old Industry article didn't really even discuss industrial processes much; most of the content was related to history or society.
For any future editors looking to do heavy editing here, I just want to leave a few ideas & breadcrumbs related to coverage:
- Artisan / craft production already has its own articles, but a bit more of it here too would help give a fuller picture of manufacturing.
- That could include fleshing out the history section more and a small section on the process / business side of it.
- Sections to discuss general aspects of manufacturing might also be good.
- For example, sourcing materials, investing in plant & equipment, innovation, marketing, etc.
- I've already created a redirect to here at "Industry (manufacturing)".
- If this article becomes large & general enough to split off industrial-specific content, I'd suggest clobbering that redirect with it.
- For one, a lot of the previous inlinks to the Industry page will probably be pointing there.
- Also, splitting here and possibly usurping the main Industry page could be handled in separate phases.
