Notability failing WP:1E

[edit]

His claim to notability is his work on the Expo in Seville, but as the article covers this in just two sentences this does not seem to be overly significant. Surely if he would be more than your average administrator there would be more to say. 2A02:A451:8B2D:1:19D8:8218:7FA9:C43B (talk) 08:27, 3 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • I believe you are mistaken. Olivencia alone establishes notability due: well sourced material, received multiple honors, and furthermore has done more than the Expo. He was an educator who went on to teach Felipe Gonzales (kind of like Abner J. Mikva and Barack Obama) and impacted Seville. The expo was a huge turning point in his life but that doesn't mean it's the only known thing about him. I removed the tag as the article already "already has cited reliable secondary sources that are independent of the topic and provide significant coverage" (per tag) --TDKR Chicago 101 (talk) 09:06, 3 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
    • This might well be the case, but then the article should assert this notability. The article is so thin, all we learn is that he was a middling academic and administrator. So taking at face value that he is notable, I would suggest an expansion of the career section. If there are multiple, reliable sources, surely that shouldnt be a problem. 2A02:A451:8B2D:1:19D8:8218:7FA9:C43B (talk) 12:52, 3 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
