Manuel Esperón is not credited at The Three Caballeros at imdb [1]. However, he does have a very large list of credits for other movies. See [2] where The Three Caballeros is listed. --Bejnar (talk) 03:15, 5 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ay, Jalisco, no te rajes and The Three Caballeros

[edit]

This article states that Manuel Esperón wrote "Ay, Jalisco, no te rajes!" for the 1960 film "De tal palo tal astilla". This information cannot be accurate as the title song from "The Three Caballeros" (1944) has the same melody as "Ay, Jalisco, no te rajes!" and it is my understanding that "Ay, Jalisco, no te rajes!" was written first. A film called "¡Ay, Jalisco no te rajes!" was released in 1941 with songs written by Manuel Esperón, so it seems likely to me that this was the actual movie that it was written for, however I cannot find a list of songs featured in the film, so I cannot know for sure. Also, even if it was featured in this film, that does not necessarily mean that it was originally written for it. Does anyone know when "Ay, Jalisco, no te rajes" was actually released and with what movie?--Jpcase (talk) 01:26, 6 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

According to this webpage - http://www.tuvez.com/tu-vez-blast-from-the-past-truck-the-three-caballeros/ - Manuel Esperon did in fact write "Ay, Jalisco, no te rajes!" for the 1941 film of the same name. I do not know how reliable this page is, but as it seems almost impossible that the song could have been written for "De tal palo tal astilla" and it seems so likely that it was written for the film "Ay, Jalisco, no te rajes!", I decided to change the article to reflect this. However I would still love a response from anyone who can either further varify this information or who has contradictory information. I have no idea whether the information stating that "Coculla" was written for "De tal palo tal astilla" was also false or if it was true, but seeing as though there is no reason to doubt this information I decided to leave it as it was. Also if anyone looks at the revision history and wonders why the description for my edit simply reads, "I do not believe that" it is because I accidently posted the edit before I could finish writing.--Jpcase (talk) 21:59, 20 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
