August 2009 appearance query - Morecambe v Barnet

Hi, regarding your edit [1] where you re-added the sportbox reference to show the stats for 2009-10, did you see my previous edit/edit summary [2] where I showed two sources with alternative figures? Regards. Eldumpo (talk) 09:22, 25 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Indeed I did, but Soccerbase and the official website fail to mention his appearance against Barnet on 18 August 2009, which is confirmed by the Morecambe website. Cheers, Mattythewhite (talk) 14:52, 25 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for responding. The Barnet website [3], Soccerbase [4] and British Footie [5] all show Diarmuid O'Carroll playing in the 18/8/09 game for Morecambe rather than Panther, whereas your Morecambe link and Sportbox [6] show Panther playing rather than O'Carroll, although it is interesting that Sportbox show Panther without a squad number, whereas the others all have one, so maybe this is somehow the source of the confusion. Based on the evidence though, it does not seem definitive that he played in the match. Eldumpo (talk) 18:20, 25 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It seems pretty unlikely that O'Carroll played, considering he was released at the end of the previous season. Perhaps, for some reason, O'Carroll was incorrectly written on the line-up as Panther was wearing the number 14 shirt, which O'Carroll had worn the previous season?
