The originator of this page had this to say about the villiage:
- Mannangadu is one of the 36 villages falls under the Musukundan Nadu.It is situated south and south-east of Kasangadu and west of vattakudi and north of Thuvarankurichi. It is very famous for Coconut plantation and sorrounded by more than ten tanks. The soil is so fertile that the coconut trees look so fertile than any other villages that falls under Musukundan nadu. At present there is historical evidence to show the origin of the village. But it was one the six villages donated by one Nayak king at Thanjavur to One Chinnaiyar at pattukkttai sometme in 18th century.Efforts are on the way to establish historical credentials for the village. There is heresay that the village was carved out a portion from Kasangadu and Thamarankottai.Normaly the Muniswaran temples in the villages are situated at the end of the village as protecting God. But at present the Muniswaran temple is situated at the centre of Village as village was created by merging two portions from aforesaid villages. So the present location of Muniswaran temple is the border between Kasangadu and Thamarankottai before the creation of Mannangadu.
There were no sources for this stuff, and I tried looking in Google for a reference, but didn't find much. I'm leaving it here in case someone can find some citations.
