Names

[edit]

I don't think it is necessary to have the names of the girls on the article and things like (possible 100m sprinter in 2012?) written next to it. If anyone says these people are fast, I know people who have beaten them as our schools race regularly :)

WikiProject class rating

[edit]

This article was automatically assessed because at least one WikiProject had rated the article as stub, and the rating on other projects was brought up to Stub class. BetacommandBot 10:22, 10 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Uniforms

[edit]

They may have changed, but when I was there the shirts were a nasty shade of lemon yellow, not even easily confused with cream. And the science labs were being described as 'new' fifteen years ago, so that may want to be updated, or at least de-press-released.--FlickGC (talk) 00:13, 28 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unidentified alumnae

[edit]

Is this section based upon any factual component? If not I think it should go. It is critical that we have some reference to this otherwise it seems little more than "pie in the sky" wishful thinking. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.41.128.179 (talk) 14:41, 27 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Written like an essay or book

[edit]

'The beginning of university education for women[edit] So what was all this work for? Why did Manchester High pupils study Classics, Mathematics and Chemistry? Although the founders of the school were among the pioneers of girls’ academic education, they were entirely conventional in their ideas about what that education was for.'

This is not very encyclopaedic. It shouldn't ask questions, simply write facts. It also starts to talk about Girton College in Cambridge, which has little to do with this college, that should be in the Girton College article. It's hasn't even got links. I'll put a template up. This is worthy of consideration but the school's early years need to be situated in the extension of education for girls at that time.--Johnsoniensis (talk) 02:30, 28 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Headmistress

[edit]

There will be a new headmistress from September 2020; Mrs Helen Jeys from Alderley Edge School for Girls. ("Open Up Chorlton"; Oct. 2020, p. 14)--Johnsoniensis (talk) 02:30, 28 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
