Which group did the Man of theHole belong to?

[edit]

Each indigenous group has a name of the ancestry or tribe. Which did he belonged to? Can we figure out or at least try to see if we can identify which one he was from if available out of context and consideration to him and his culture? Lmharding (talk) 23:50, 29 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

As you can read in this wiki-article, and if that's not good enough - by even a cursory search of the internet for sources, this is a complete mystery, because his tribe was wiped out before any information about them was known. 82.176.221.176 (talk) 05:51, 30 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

This does not meet the requirements to be a WP:RS and should be replaced. —Brigade Piron (talk) 08:23, 30 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I'll do the review. --An anonymous username, not my real name (talk) 15:12, 28 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Pretty good so far. Here's what I'd suggest:

  • The lead seems a little long and overly detailed given the article's length.
  • It says he survived an attack by a single rancher in the lead, but the body says "gunmen" plural, with no mention of them being ranchers.
  • Could you name some specific indigenous rights groups that support the demand of him being buried where he lived?
  • No images. I know public domain images are scarce for topics like this, but if you can, finding something at least vaguely related to the topic is generally better than nothing.

That's all I found, and if you would rather leave one of the bullets alone, just tell me. Otherwise, it meets all six criteria. --An anonymous username, not my real name (talk) 15:23, 28 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the review and the good suggestions, An anonymous username, not my real name. Responding to your points:
  • I've trimmed the lead down
  • It should be ranchers/gunmen plural according to the sources, fixed
  • The source only says "indigenous rights groups", which makes me think it could well just be referring back to dos Santos. I don't think this sentence really adds anything so I've just removed it.
  • We obviously won't get a free image, but I've tried with one of the few grainy-cam photos of him under fair use. I also added a map.
Do let me know if there's anything else! – Joe (talk) 10:15, 3 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Beautiful work. It looks perfect. --An anonymous username, not my real name (talk) 10:55, 3 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
