Notability?

[edit]

Watching brother Felix at the US Open today, the commentator picked out Malika in the player box and commented they were very close. Out of curiousity I looked to see if she had a Wiki bio and here it is. But for the life of me I can't see this meets Wikipedia notability for tennis sports persons https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Notability_(sports)#Tennis.

Of course I wish Malika a bright future and I'm not going to be a a jerk and mark the bio for deletion. But I do think editors should pay more attention to notability! Соловей поет (talk) 23:54, 3 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry to necro but I was having a look at old tennis articles and I thought this would not meet the notability guidelines, but I was wrong. Taking a closer look at WP:NTENNIS it states that players are considered notable if they've entered a main draw of a high-level tournament - she has entered one; a WTA 250 doubles in 2015. So I think it's Ok for this to be kept up. --Bonoahx (talk) 19:46, 13 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
