Wikilink the athletes names in § Background.
The events named in § Background (men's 800 metres etc) should be wikilinked as they are mentioned there first and have their later mentions unlinked.
"admitting to steroid use" – wikilink to anabolic steroid.
"had her own issue with missing a drug test" – the "own issue" part sounds clunky; try rewording.
"Fariha represented the Maldives at the Athens Olympics as a swimmer" – Athens Olympics?
