From the Ogden Standard Examiner, Ogden, Utah, May 1, 1945, Page 2:

Film Star Burned HOLLYWOOD, May 1 (UP) -- Malcolm McGregor, 53, former star of silent films, died yesterday of burns suffered when he fell asleep in a chair with a cigaret in his hand. Funeral services will be held tomorrow morning.
